Turning 30....

Well most people have a great 30 yr old party. DH offered to throw one but I just don't feel like it.  Does any other mom here just not feel like having a party for themselves anymore?  It's like if I have to throw a party, it'll be for DS.  And any other time when I'm not cooking or cleaning or feeding or changing diaper or washing him, I'll rather just rest. Unless the party is kid free, I don't think it'll feel like a party for me because most likely all the moms will be chasing after the kids and not really relax.

Am I being too depressing for thinking that way?

    Have a kid free party!! My DH threw me a Casino Night party ... it was a blast!

    I think the 30th needs to be celebrated. Rather it be a big dinner out, or a trip, or party, you have to do something. I would suggest sans kiddo.

    I'm the same way...not as caring about my own birthday anymore really.  If I can do at least one thing to relax and enjoy the day, that's good for me. Of course, I never really was one to make a big deal of my b-days anyway.

    never even thought about having a party for myself ... i turn 30 on sunday!  i have thought about joining the local women's gym/spa ... the express spa membership includes one 50 min facial/massage each month ... hehe ... getting in shape could be a nice way to enter my 30's right?  lol

    I had a party and it was fun.

     

    I actually loved turning 30 - I feel great about myself and where I am in my life.

    I celebrated letting everyone know - we had a blast.

    I had kids at my party and they had so much fun - from 6 months to 12!

    Well, I don't have any kids outside the womb, but I would say you should try to maybe have a kids free party or dinner out.  Turning 30 is a big deal (in a good way) and you should definitely celebrate!
