Multiples

props to SAHM's

I have been home for 4 days straight now and i'm exhausted!!! Man they are alot of work right now.  One would nap the other wouldn't...I don't think i've had a minute alone since wednesday! DS is up mult times a night so it's not like i get any alone time at night either lol...I don't know how you do it.

AND those with 3!! Ahhhh...i'd pull my frikkin hair out! I contemplated staying at home come end of year but i think i'm better off being a working mommy.  I don't think i have the patience. They are into to everything and i'm constantly cleaning up after them.

I really don't know how the heck you do it so i just wanted to shout out to all the SAHM's of multiples especially :)

  • Thanks! I accept. It seems like a pretty thankless job most of the time- good thing we're not doing it for the praise or recognition ;D

  • Thanks! I agree that it's generally a thankless (and tough!) job...and I only have one right now--I'm a little scared about how it will be with three.

That being said, whenever I have to get up and get my son out of the house for something that is first thing in the morning, I give SO MUCH credit to working families who are able to do it everyday. Yikes, it's so difficult for me to get anywhere on time in the early(ish) morning, and I feel like getting to work by a specific time would be next to impossible.

  • Thanks, I think a lot of people (including DH) think I sit around and read People Magazine and drink coffee all day.  And some days are so tough I really do think about going back to work just to get some free time.  No one used to follow me into the bathroom at work!

  • Thanks! But, really, I give so many props to working MoMs. We're good at getting out the door in time in the afternoons, but in the morning? Oh, my, it's a disaster.

  • It's hard as hell!  Hardest job I have ever had or ever will have!  It's a big ball of crazy on a constant basis.

Thanks. I agree with all of this. I also give a ton of credit to working moms. I am so not a morning person so the idea of getting up, two toddlers dressed, myself dressed and out the door before noon is mind boggling to me.

  • Amen. I totally agree. Being home is much harder than being at the office. SAHM's rock. After a 4 day weekend I am definitely ready to get back to work for a break!

This!! It's getting easier now that I'm on Prozac, though. ;) It's so funny for me to think back on my really stressful jobs, where I worked 12 hour days for a week or two at a time. I still ate three meals a day, slept through the night, had weekends off, and managed to shower every morning. Of course, my bosses were nowhere near as cute as my current bosses are!

  • Thank you!  Oh how I love a pat on the back.  What I wouldn't give for a bathroom break with the door closed and no one knocking on it.  What I wouldn't give to sleep all the way through...just one night.  What I wouldn't give for a shower on a daily basis.  What I wouldn't give to go one day without poop, pee, human/canine vomit, or boogers on me.  But I wouldn't change it for anything.  I love what I do.  It IS hard to be a SAHM but I also think it is hard to be a career mom as well.  We are all living in different circumstances and are working our tails off to make the best lives possible for our children.  Hats off to all of us!

  • Thank you. It is so nice to hear. I saw all day yesterday my singleton mom friends that work saying, oh thank goodness I was able to go back to work today, I couldn't take one more day at home all day with my kid! It made me laugh because my DH says this all the time, "I don't know how you do it honey, I would lose my mind if I did what you do every.single.day."

I think you just kind of get used to it and it doesn't even cross your mind most days that life is any other way. My friends are always amazed that I can handle my twins and then also watch a couple of their kids all at the same time when they have a function or something they had to go to at night. But for me since I am already dealing with 2, what's another 2 or 3 kids. Of course they are all spaced out in age and the oldest is almost 7 and she helps me a lot on those days by entertaining the kids when I need to fix food or snacks. It just doesn't seem to phase me anymore like it does others.

Of course that being said, I do have my bad days. Like last week (had a breakdown post) that was a bad couple of days and it got to me. But this week is better and the girls have been a breeze the last couple of days.
