Lupron at the exact same time each morning?

I am on day 12 of Lupron and I just now noticed in my notes from our meds training that I am supposed to take it close to the same time each morning, before 10 am. I remembered the 10 am part, but somehow completely missed the same time part. During the week, I have been taking the shot around 6:30, but on the weekends it's been more like 9:30 (including most of this past week since I was off for Thanksgiving.) So now I'm worried that I've messed something up by not taking it at around the same time every morning. Is this a big deal?

Re: Lupron at the exact same time each morning?

  • I was told a 2 hour window either side of the required time so that would mean you are a little early some days and perfect others. Ask you RE but I am sure it is OK as the Lupron is subq injections so slow release/absorption anyway. GL!

  • I asked the nurse and she said it didn't have to be the exacty same time but try to do it close.  I was doing Lupron morning and night for awhile.  It wasn't always 12 hours apart, but she said it didn't matter that much.  Try to do them a little closer to the same time, but you're probably fine.

  • I was told that Lupron should be taken between 7-9 in the AM and stims should be taken between 7-9 in the PM (I think this was because the nurse knew my work/train schedule). Basically, they want the shots to be done as consistently as possible/when possible, and I was told that I have a 90 minute wiggle on either side if something comes up...so don't stress.
