I've tried to google the above, and thought perhaps I'd get more accurate info on here. My mom had twins and my paternal great great grandma had twins. What's the likelihood of me having multiples?
They say it skips a generation....but doesn't always happen that way. I did IVF so i'm not one to for sure say although I was a twin and my husband aunt and uncles are twin and i have more twins on my side of the family too...

The likelihood of anyone conceiving twins is first based on which type of twins you're talking about. Identical twins have nothing to do with genetics so everyone's chances of having ID twins are equal. Fraternal twins can be genetic, but only the mother's genes determine if a pregnancy will be multiples or not. I'm not sure how IVF factors in as far as genetics go, our twins are spontaneous so I can't speak from experience there. If you have female family members who have had fraternal twins, your chances of having twins are slightly increased, but I wouldn't bet on it.

the way i look at it, it's 50/50... you either do or you don't Unless you have an US to show that you ovulate 2 eggs at once on a regular basis- there's no way to know if you do that- and that's what makes you have twins that are hereditary... so you won't know until you try.
Twins only skip a generation if the mom who has twins has sons... then the son can pass down the "double O" gene to HIS daughter, who could then have twins.... but if you (or your siblings ) are a fraternal twin, that means your mom O'd twice (assuming no ART was used)... and you could have inherited that from her and could have twins, too.
If you/siblings are ID twins, then it's not considered to be heriditary - it's a fluke with the egg splitting.... so no increase of chance for you.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
