new carseat?

Anyone buy their next car seat yet? We have the Chicco KeyFit 30 and LO is already 26 inches, so I know that we only have a few more inches to go before she's too long for it. Just looking for recommendations on a new car seat, since it might make sense to buy it now when everything is on sale for the holidays.

We have the Evenflo Triumph for Lila right now. She was in a Graco Snugride and grew out of it quick. The Triumph has a ratchet knob on the side so you can make the straps nice and snug with very little effort. Jack currently has a Sunshine Radian which we love (but are $$). We bought two, planning on putting Lila in the other but it takes up a TON OF ROOM rear facing. It is fantastic forward facing though. So we kept Jack's Triumph for Lila and will keep her in it until she is 2. They are very reasonably priced, ours came from AlbeeBaby.com.

We are getting ready to switch DS to the Graco MyRide 65.  It was DDs has been  comfy for her and it feels sturdy.

I just pulled the trigger on a new car seat for V tonight.  The deals are too good, and she'll need it soon enough.  I was between the Sunshine Kids Radian and the Britax Boulevard 70.  I ended up picking the Britax because the Radian will take up too much room in my Prius.  There are usually good deals on cyber Monday and in the early part of the year when the new models/fabrics come out.

The "30" in the Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat is for pounds, not inches.  You should still be able to use it for a while, right?

Actually, I believe it's rated by weight and height, which ever one they meet first.  From my reading, most kids reach the height limit on any car seat before they reach the weight limit.

That is correct. Most all kids outgrow their seat by height before they ever reach the weight limit.  For reference, my 3 year old is 36 lbs.

We have 2 Britax Boulevards for my DS, and I just ordered another one for her. My Mom is buying the 4th for Christmas.

We switched from the keyfit 30 to a Britax Boulevard 70 a few weeks ago.  It took me a week to get used to it, but we are good now!

Thanks to a friend who had just had a baby when I was pg... I registered for 2 carseats and got them both. We went with the Britax Boulevard 70 for Carseat #2 and to be quite honest, I love it more than the newborn carseat I have! My parents have the Britax in their car now for when they're watching the baby, but we're going to need to steal it back soon
