How my mom took my induction news...

I told her I was being induced Monday night and she asked me to call my OB to see if we could move it to Sunday so she could get back to work by Wednesday! Jesus mom, my kids birth does not revolve around you! FTR, she is supposed to help watch my son while in in the hospital. So I made arrangements for someone else to take him Wednesday night so she can work. Wouldn't want to inconvenience her!

    My sister told me yesterday that I should have my baby on a Friday or Saturday so she doesn't have to miss work to visit us at the hospital Huh?

    This sounds like my MIL. When she found out my SIL was pregnant, she complained that it wasn't a good time for her. She does not like that our kid is due in december, either, and wishes we had planned differently. She hates winter so leaving AZ is too much of a burden. Luckily for me, this postpones her visit a few months!

    BIG Hugs!!! It makes me want to ask those mothers if they asked their parents  when would be a convientant time to have us!!! Seriously, I'm glad you asked someone else to take care of your son so you didn't need to stress out about this while trying to focus on giving birth.

    I'm sorry! I thought that I was the only one who had inconsiderate jerks who tried to dictate when I could and couldn't have my child! My brother's girlfriend has literally told me an entire list of dates that I can't have my child on, before or after! I told her like I told everyone else "MY child will come on his/her own terms. S/he's on his/her own schedule- not even MINE so if my child happens to show on one of these specified dates- tough titty!" She even had the nerve to tell me she had to cancel on going to a concert because she "just knows" that I will go into labor and ruin her night. ugh.

    Wow...that really is rude.

    I KINDA feel your pain. I haven't sad much of anything about my mom being around/helping out when this LO is born.

    My mom was a SAHW for 30 years. Now she works at the local library and her life revolves around it. She seriously works 8 hours per week but reminds us all she's so busy with it. Confused Just because she works Monday, Wednesday, Friday, AND Saturday for 2 hours a day....

    I'm not expecting her to do as much as watch my child... I am hoping she won't make a big fuss at watching my dog though.
