I am really hoping for a VBAC with this one but I also know I will probably have an uphill battle on my hands. Any advice on how to appproach my dr about it? My first appointment is on the 2nd and I want to start the discussion now. I honestly feel the reason for my c/s with DD was the nurses were in a hurry to get me moving since KW was the only hospital open during Ike and when I walked it they didn't even have a room for me so who knows how many others came after. That stupid pitocin. I was contracting and progressing just fine but they insisted on pitocin which caused crazy pain resulting in me beggin for an epidural after which I got my progress stopped.
Re: ***E&RMommy***
Hey there. I know I am not E&RMommy, but I have some suggestions.
First, if you really want a VBAC, don't take no for an answer. If your doc won't, or isn't TRULY VBAC friendly, you can always switch docs.
Second, to find out if your doc is really VBAC friendly, I have a list of questions to ask them. You can email me at cole@sagemama.net for that list, along with a list of VBAC friendly docs in the area.
Third, consider hiring a doula to support you. This is not a shameless self-promotion, as there are a great number of AWESOME doulas in this area to support women. Check out doulamatch.net to find one in your area. A doula will help better your odds for a VBAC.
If you want to talk, feel free to pm me or email me at that email.
Good luck, I think it is awesome you are working toward this goal and being proactive so early in the game.
