Re: EBF and first period already?

  • Are you sure it's your period? I thought I had right after my pp bleeding had stopped, but it only last a day and wasn't as heavy as a period. This has happened to be 4 or 5 times. I will start bleeding like a period, but it always stops after a day at the longest and then goes away for a couple days. I think some one called it break through bleeding. It's very annoying!

  • Glad I am not the only one! I was done with PP bleeding for two weeks and then got my period. I had it at my six week checkup this week and my doc said that yes, it was probably my period. The only plus is that she said I could wear tampons - I am just glad I don't have to wear pads!

  • When I had DD1, I was EBF and I thought I got my period back after only a few weeks.  Turns out it was residual PP bleeding (after it had already stopped).  I actually didn't get my period back until LO was 11 months.  Soooo.....  maybe it's just residual bleeding?  Sometimes it happens when you've been more physically active than usual.
