So, I just need a spot to blow off a little steam and the baby board is it. No flames please.
My ill, elderly pseudo-Aunt is really sweet and well-meaning but...
She had some girl-baby name suggestions for us. More suggested tweaks rather than new names. Her suggestion was using Anne or Elisabeth as 2nd middle names and didn't I think it was a pretty? Didn't it roll off the tongue when you said the whole name out loud? Didn't I want to try saying it?
And of course, when you are talking to your elderly pseudo-Aunt, the only correct answer to these questions is, "Yes."
Yes, it's such a pretty girls name.
Yes, that really rolls off the tongue. Yes, we were So Concerned that it didn't quite roll but yes, now I see that Adding More makes it so much easier to spit out. Princess Consuela Banana Hammock it is!
Le sigh, I don't think my "Yes" answers were very convincing. I think the longish, stunned pause gave me away.
Re: Vent: No boundaries pseudo-Aunt
Ahhh it's just easier to agree than disagree sometimes. You did the right thing Apple.

Sometime smile an nod is the best thing you can do. You have plenty of time between now and when baby comes to come up with a good lie for not using those names
PS you're the only person I know besides myself that says "le sigh". Too much Pepe le pew as a child me thinks.
My MIL wanted us to name our baby Beatrice. Nuff said.
Smiling and "That's a nice name" then distracting them with something shiny is sometimes all you can do. Hang in there!
a. We'd never flame our dear apple....or at least if anyone did, I'd have to take out my boxing gloves.
b. You did the right thing, just nod and say sure and hten forgeddabout it. People will always have opinions, the only one that counts is yours
