Dr appt every 2 weeks after 25 wks?

Just wondering if this is normal--I just started seeing a new dr and had my 25 week appt.  Everything looks good and my pregnancy is low-risk but she said that from now until 35 weeks I would come in every 2 weeks; then every week until delivery.  (I had been going once every 4 weeks).  Anyone know if this is standard practice?  Seems like a lot of dr time...

I think my doc does that after 28 or 30 weeks, but yes, I think this is pretty standard...

Hm...that seems odd, but ever doctor is different. My OB won't have me start coming in that often until like, 30-35 weeks. Then she'll start the every two weeks, and after that it'll be every week. But until then it's just once a month, so I dunno!

Pretty sure that is standard practice I happen to have my next appointment at 27 weeks, so that is when the every 2 will start for me.

I think mine normally does it closer to 30 weeks, but it's definitely standard. I think they're switching me to every two weeks after my next appointment, and I also see a high risk OB once a month.

My every two week appts dont start until around 27 weeks, but yes this is standard practice.

I don't start going every other week until I'm 32 weeks. That's what happened with my last and that's what I will do again with this one. Then after 36 weeks I'll go weekly.

I think the doc is probably trying to get you back on a schedule being that if you wait 4 wks for the next one you will be 29 but if you go 2 that will be 27 and right around 3rd tri and 28 wks anyways.  

But yes it's normal around that range to go every 2 wks.

Mine does that at 27 and 35 so i think it sounds normal

I think that is pretty standard.  My next appointment is in the middle of December and then I start going every 2 weeks.  I will be about 27 or 28 weeks by then.

my more frequent appts the first time were later on - but i think it could just depend on your doctor.

I'm 25 weeks tomorrow (and high risk).  My dr told me Wednesday that my next appt will be Dec. 13th (almost 27 weeks) then every 2 weeks after that (with her that is).  I will also see my MFM every 2 weeks starting Dec. 13th.  I'm going to schedule these appts on the same day so I'm not going to the dr every week until delivery!

I had my 24 week apt and go back at 28 weeks for my GD test then every two weeks after that. Guess he just throws another visit in there!

I started appointments every 2 weeks at 24 weeks, but I'm considered "high risk" because of hypertension. Otherwise I think my OB said they would usually wait until after 28 weeks to start visits every 2 weeks, but I'm sure every office is a little different.

25 weeks seems early, but it usually is based on your "cycle" of appts.

I have my 24 week appointment next week.  After that, my doctor wants to see me every 2 weeks.

Well, I am due in March and my Dr has me coming every 2wks starting at the end of Jan-Feb.  Then in March I come every week...

I have an appt Dec 1, which is my last 4 week appt.  After that, we have a 3 week appt and then go to 2 weeks and then 1 week after 32 or 34 weeks. 

I love it because it means we get to see Grace more often! (We get an u/s each appt with the portable u/s machine)
