Still holding onto hope for a December baby...

I had my weekly checkup, and I am still at 3 cm, 80% effaced, and am now at -1 station (I was at -3 last week).  My doc said my numbers will probably stay there till I am in active labor.  I said that we were hoping she would arrive as a December baby, and he hesitated BIG TIME. His words said, "who knows", but his face said, "yea, probably not gonna happen".  I am holding out hope though!!  I have read so many times about people walking around for weeks at these numbers, so it's still possible, right?!

It's definitely possible.  A friend of mine just told me the other day she walked around for four weeks at 4cm.  Keep hoping.  Doctors have no way of knowing for sure. You could go sooner, you could still go past your EDD.

Totally possible. My sister was 4cm for over 3 weeks... and still needed to be induced!

Docs really have no way of knowing, I don't know why they even bother making comments.

Its a possibility Just gotta keep positive! I have been stuck at a 4 for what feels like forever

There is no way to know, my doctor said he stopped trying to figure it out.  My cousin was 100% effaced and went past her due date.  So yeah you are right, that doesn't mean anything.

I was 3cm dilated for three weeks with my son and still went a week overdue, so yes it's very possible
