    A has been able to sit on her own well since 5mo.  But only if I put her like that.  She only just now started to sometimes get herself to sitting.

    DD didn't until almost 8 months. Every kid is different.

    He was sitting on his own by about 5.5m About a month ago he started getting to the sitting position by himself

    I think they can around 5 months and on. B sat on her own a bit after 6 months, and then got herself into the sitting position without help at 7.5 months.

    DS didn't sit up without support until he was over 6 months. He did start Army crawling around 5 months, so he was always more interested in moving around than sitting still.

    #1 was sitting unassisted at 4 months, which is crazy early. #2 is 4 months and no where CLOSE to doing it. I though it was average of 6 mo +?

    DD will be 5mos next Friday and is trying soooo hard to do it. Hopefully soon!

    DD sat up for an extended time unassisted around 5.5 months old.

    DS is starting to make strides (he can do about 5 seconds if he's in the mood) towards it now at almost 4 months.

    I think about 5 months, I remember that at his 6 month appt the doc sat him up and was surprised that he didn't fall/tip over.
