Re: ~* Weekly PAL Check-In *~
New/Diminishing symptoms? She's had those freakouts occasionally before, but not this frequently, not for so long each time and not with such intensity! In general, her gas is getting better and so is her baby acne and dry skin.
Upcoming appts? A week from today for both of us.
Milestones? Does leaving her with DH for 3.5 hours count as a milestone? I've only left her once before and that was for about 20 minutes to run to the store. So it's the longest I've been away from her (so hard!) and the first time DH was on his own with her (my dad was with him last time).
What has been easier than expected? Harder? Easier: worrying about her/what I'm doing. I'm a total worry-wart and thought I'd be constantly worrying once she came, but I've actually been really relaxed. Surprised myself and everyone who knows me well! Harder: gas! I never realized that young babies have so much trouble with their gas. And I just thought "Oh, so you burp them or pump their legs if they're gassy. No biggie." Didn't realize those things don't always (or in Lily's case, usually) work and that you feel completely helpless as your baby screams and cries in pain.
How much sleep is LO getting each night? She *was* sleeping from 11 or 12 until 6 or 7 (sometimes even 8!) when we were letting her sleep in our bed for a couple weeks. But I didn't want that to become a habit, so we've been putting her in the crib again and trying to get her down a little earlier. In the crib she'll sleep for 3-5 hours at a time, wake up from gas/pooping and want to eat, then repeat the cycle.
Something positive about motherhood! Coming home to her cuddles after being away yesterday was amazing. And the other morning when I went to her when she woke up she gave me this relieved little smile like "Oh, good! I was hoping you'd come get me". I love it!

How are you feeling? I have real bad pain in my pelvis some days, it feels like it did the day after giving birth! good thing I still have the pain meds or I couldn't walk at all
New/Diminishing symptoms?Baby acne is all gone! thank you hydrocortisone 1% DD's gas also is improving now that we are using RTF Similac Advance-no powder unless its an emergency.
Upcoming appts? The 28th i have a pedi appt for the doc to re-write a note to WIC, explaining DD's 100% whey protein allergy. our WIC office only provides gerber-which is the ONLY formula that is 100%whey protein : / Then Dec 5th is 2 month shots
What has been easier than expected? Harder?its sooooo hard to not let her sleep in my arms! i thought that i'd be fine with putting her down and sleeping when she is during the day, but i'm never sleepy-tired when she is! Its getting easier to bathe/get her dressed on a regular basis
Milestones?getting her to smile-react to me and DH
How much sleep is LO getting each night?she gets a good few hours between 10pm and 1am, then from around 2-3am till 8am she is up and ready to eat/play! then back down when the sun comes up till after noon. I'm so glad I dont have anywhere to go (like work) right now
Something positive about motherhood! feeling her involuntary "hugs" and her happy gurgles
