Trying to Get Pregnant

SMEP

Have any of you tried the sperm meets egg plan? Does it increase the chances of conception any more than the typical pattern of every other day? DH and I are thinking of giving it a try this cycle, but I wanted to see if its actually worth the extra effort.

  • Yes, we all are trying to get the sperm and egg to meet. I was referring to a specific method  that is actually referred to as SMEP.

We're slowly working on things, since I've become more relaxed about it I can "accomodate" more with a lot less effort.

You never bother to read that thread after you posted it, did you. Fisting is only for your husband to get his rocks off; it has nothing to do with giving birth.

  • I tried the SMEP for several months, with no luck.  If you're willing to try fisting, you are probably willing to try this too.  It can't hurt... give it a go.

I did read the other thread and I disagree with much of what was said. I personally feel that it helps to relax the muscles in that region. DH does enjoy doing it but it also has added another aspect to our sex life.

When fisting gets to be easy, you want to continue to get your vag as flappy as possible. I suggest going with something with a little more bulk. A small watermelon, perhaps?

  • I didn't post this to debate fisting. Not everyone is into it, I understand that and don't expect everyone to be. My husband and I enjoy the connection it builds between us while we are exploring my limits. I haven't seen anything stating that there is harm in doing it and I don't see how its any different than using the EPI-No. I posted my question on the SMEP out of curiosity and hoping to read everyone's experiences with that, not to rehash the fisting issue.

  • If you and your husband want to make your vag look like roast beef, then fine, go for it and continue fisting. Have fun "exploring your limits". I'm sure, your husband likes it now, but when it feels like he's having sex with the Holland Tunnel, he'll wish he never brought it up.

You may not want to debate fisting here with this post, but realize you lost all credibility and will from now on be known as The Fister.

The issue isn't you getting your freak on (and this is tame in that area); the issues is you insisting it has something to do with giving birth. Just own up to fisting as part of sexxxy-time fun and stop pretending it is anything else.

As for your original question- it's crap. There si nothing in that 'plan' that is going to get you more KU than anything else people on here suggest.

Or when sex feels like throwing a hot dog down a hallway!

    Both are fantastic visuals.

Baaa haaa! How could I forget the hot dog down a hallway!

And, your dogs are cute, BTW.

I'm sorry, what parts did you disagree with??

You do realize that contractions when you're in labor are dialating your cervix, right? That by fisting you are doing absolutely nothing to actually "prepare" for labor and childbirth unless he can actually get his fist in your cervix? I'm just perplexed.

  • So...seriously.

I googled the SMEP.  It is really no different than what any of us do.  Basically have sex when you get a +OPK.

  • How is this plan:

     The Plan

    Short Version:
image"Try" every other night starting Day 8
imageBuy 10 ovulation predictor kit sticks
imageBegin ovulation testing on Day 10
imageWhen test is positive, "try" that night, plus two additional nights in a row
imageSkip one night, then do one last "try"
imageTake a home pregnancy test 15 days after your ovulation test was positive, if your period has not begun
imageIf your ovulation test never goes positive, continue "trying" every other night until Day 35, then do a pregnancy test if your period has not begun.
imageStatistics coming in from women who write me show that about 40% of post-miscarriage women will get pregnant on the first try if they are faithful to the plan, about double the number of the normal population who are not on the plan. This assumes, of course, that you waited for a normal cycle to begin after your loss, and did not begin trying before having a period after a miscarriage. Many women do not ovulate in that first cycle.

different from what most of the women here are doing?

Yes. It's all basically what you learn from being on this board and reading the newbie link and FF info.

Why does it say "try"? I don't think I could take any plan seriously that couldn't say sex when that's what you have to do to get pregnant. Sex-everybody's doing it!
