? about wrapping gifts

For the kids do you leave items in the package?  Our gifts were never in the original box. I am guessing this was b/c Santa doesn't have Mattel of Fisher Price at his workshop or something along those lines.

We leave stuff in the box, unless it is big.  Like DD is getting a suitcase, so that will be out.  But a Doodlebear and barbies, will stay in the box.  I guess it depends too how much time you have to preassemble everything.

I will be un packaging everything and wrapping the stuff in gift bags. Toys will be working and ready to play with! I hate the packaging stuff comes in, I don't want to deal with that and battery install as he is unwrapping stuff.

Last year we left things in the box, but good point about having it all put together ready to play.  I will have to ponder this one.

We did a big tool bench one year.  That was out of the box and put together.  Last year was a DSi.  That was wrapped in the box, but it had been taken out and charged before it was wrapped.  I guess it depends on the gift for us.

I don't remember what happened when I was a kid.

We're just doing big gifts this year - with a few small things. But I like having them ready to play with. At Evan's party it took us forever to unpackage and assemble stuff.
