+1 slighly thinned out 0 dilation

That is what my internal at 35 weeks proved yesterday.   I had to go in for some pain and they wanted to check me out.

BUT he made the comment that contractions won't be as "strong" and labor may be quicker?  Seeing the baby is RIGHT there.

Anyone else told this?

  • Personally, I wouldn't get my hopes up on that one.

  • Im not!!  I just found it odd he would say that...
  • I was constantly getting comments like that from the medical professionals with DD1. The OBs and midwives all said I'd go early (I went 5 days late), then I was told it would be a quick labor (ended up being over 24 hours of active labor), cap it off with the midwife telling me "she's right there, should be just a couple pushes to get her out" (3 hours of pushing later). I'm a little bitter of those hopeful comments now.

I do hope it goes very quick for you though, I just know how rough it is to hope for it, then have it not happen.

OH gosh!!!!  I hope #2 is much better for you!!

  • I was told the same thing w/my daughter at 35w. I had dr check me b/c I felt SO much pressure in my bottom... hetold me "wow, baby is RIGHT there!" and "I'd be surprised if you go past 38w". I carried her to exactly 39w and my labor was 11 hours (longer than with my first when I was induced). :/
