DD nearly broke my heart. (in a good way)

I put DD to bed at 830pm. I heard her crying about 20mins ago, so I go in her and DS's room to check on her. Well she is in there sobbing quietly. I ask her whats wrong. She starts to tell me that she's upset because I'm going to the hospital and she won't be able to see me and her new sister. I started to cry.

I picked her and brought her out to the living where me and DH explain to her that she will be able to see us and that she gets to be with her grandparents while mommy and daddy are in the hospital. I told her that by the time she wakes up next tuesday, her new sister will be here and after she's done breakfast her and DS were going to come to the hospital and see us. She is fine and is now sleeping. She really loves her mommy and new sister.

Aww bless her little heart!  She will see that everything will be ok.

Awe!! Too Sweet! My 4 year old niece was over the other day and she asked me where I'm gonna have her cousin at- I told her the hospital. She responded with "Well, I don't care how far the hospital is I will come see you when my baby cousin gets here!" The hospital is 50 miles from the house! lol I love the things little ones say!

Awww! It does seem like such a scary time for kids. I remember my mom had a minor surgery when I was 6 or so. I stayed with my grandma and was terrified my mom would never come back.

I was the last child but I remember a children's book by Danielle Steel that dealt with this situation. I took it out of the children's library repeatedly when I was little.

That is so sweet...My little girl keeps rubbing my belly asking me about "Her Carter". Her BM just had her baby but for whatever reason she is obsessed with ours but its sweet... She was trying to feed my belly the other day

Oh, how sweet. Poor thing, glad you and daddy were able to calm her fears I'm looking forward to all those converstations with our little girl when she's older (not finished baking yet), except we're not planning on any more LO's

Aw. I can relate to your daughter! I realized the other day that when I am in the hospital it will be the first time I have ever been away from DS overnight. Obviously bittersweet. I can't wait to meet my daughter, but I will miss kissing my son goodnight.
