Trouble TTC

Thanks for the happy thoughts!

Last week I posted about my concerns related to handling our TTC struggles while attending a wedding with friends.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their happy thoughts. As usual, I was worried about nothing. DH and I did eventually open up to a few friends about our struggles, and they were so wonderful and supportive.

I'm starting to think that friends are easier to talk to than family (at least my family). Family members share our disappointments, because every failed cycle means no grandchild, or niece/nephew, etc. Friends, on the other hand, are primarily concerned with our happiness... they're less invested in the whole "baby part," and are more interested in how we're handling things. It makes them a little easier to talk to.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for the positivity and support. I hope everyone's doing very well!

  • I'm glad it went so well for you!

  • I also think that telling friends is easier, than telling family. Friends are like your cheerleaders, whereas, family is like a coach. Coaches can sometimes get frustrated/disapointed/ be harder on you.
