I used to have to fight to stay awake on our 1.5 hr conference calls at work.

I loose interest about 15 min into a conference call especially if I'm not actively speaking or participating. So 9 hours would be a total fail for me.

They gave us a 10 minute break at 10:30 and we got lunch from 11:45-12:45.

Otherwise, you just get up and go and miss that part I guess.

Earlier we were using office communicator so at least I could wear headphones and keep working, but now we are on the phone so I have to hold the phone to my ear.

Speaker and put mute on so they can't hear you working unless you have something to say. That is what my old boss did.

I sit in cubicle land, so I can't speaker phone calls, sadly. I am on mute though.
