As a FTM to be I am trying to be prepared for any situation. Does any one have any have recommendations for compostable or biodegradable disposable diapers that actually work well?
You might already know this and want to compost diapers any way, but its generally not recommended to compost poop. If you don't plan to use the compost on your garden and especially not on a vegetable garden, then it probably doesn't pose too much of a risk to compost poop.
We don't compost (would like to, but don't). But we have used 7th generation since JJ was born and they work great. I would also recommend cloth diapering. Only reason we don't is because we get our diapers for free from our health food store. My BF cloth diapers and they love it. Works great for them.
When we're not using cloth [out of town, traveling, etc] we use Nature Babycare. They are thin and run a size small, but they get the job done without lasting in a landfill for decades.

they deliver compostable wipes, diapers and bags that we use in our diaper pail. each week they pick up the used supplies to be composted in an industrial composter (high temp).
the brand used is nature babycare. i think they work well enough that i haven't even tried any other brands.

How well does the service work? Do you feel like it's worth the money for the service? I guess you never have to worry about needing to pick up diapers or wipes?
Has anyone tried Broody Chick or Eco-Genesis? I read on the Nature Babycare website that they are not completely biodegradable. On an alternate site (I cannot remember where), I read that only 60% of Nature Babycare materials are completely biodegradable--a far cry from 100%. Has any used these other diapers or read this same information about Nature Babycare?

Thanks for all your thoughts!
I've never heard of them but I'd be interested in trying Brody Chick, even though their information is a little vague.
Sorry - lurker here. We cloth diaper and when we travel, us the Gro-Via bio-soaker inserts. They also have dispoables. We have never had a leak with the bio-soakers.

i looooooove it. it is totally worth the price. i had wanted to try cloth diapering, but i was disappointed to see that the washing required so much energy and water, so i wasn't super excited about it. and dh flat out refused. he found earth babies and this was a good compromise for us.

7th Gen diapers are NOT biodegradable.

This is why we use cloth, though.

And they are available (sometimes) on costco for a good price. HTH!
I hated gDiapers. HATED. They leaked like mad for us. Both Flips and Grovia have a disposable option.
In my opinion, it's just as much work as using cloth, so we use cloth instead. Cheaper, too.
My brother and SIL use gDiapers for my nephew. They love them but only use them during the day. At night my nephew gets too wet.
