Labor brought on by intercourse?

Just wondering if anyone experienced this and if so, was it before or after your due date?  I know they say there is no proof but many say they think it helped.

I think it was "the straw that broke the camel's back" for me. I'd been having bloody show for a few days, and when we had sex that night I started getting contractions about 10 minutes later. I was 38 weeks and change.

With my first it seemed to work. An hour after it, my contractions started and I had the baby the next day. It was two days before my due date.

Well, we had sex at 40w5d before we went to bed. Every time I got up that night, I had a barely noticeable contraction. But they were something and I was excited because I hadn't had any contractions up to that point.

When I woke for the day, I lost my MP and then had bloody show. And the contractions continued.

So it may have helped things along.

I'm convinced it caused my water to break with DS1 (38w).  With DS2, we tried it again several times after 38w, and...nothing.  Nothing helped bring that kiddo out...he came when he was ready (39w5d).  Good luck!

i tell everyone to have sex near their due date if they are ready. with DS we had sex sat night and I had contrax all day sunday (they were irreg) and then they started to get reg on sunday night. It was 5 days early. 

With DD we had sex and the next morning I woke with horrible back pain and then contrax. I had her that night. She was 10 days early.

Worked for me, but I think my body was almost ready anyway. It just helped it along.

Same thing happened to me -- 1st time I was convinced we broke my water at 38w and then tried the other night at 38w3d to no avail!!  I feel like this kid wants to stay put!

It did NOT work for me.  DS was 10 days 'late' and it wasn't for a lack of trying to evict him.
