WTF!!!

My lovely mother just called, told me that I needed to dance with my hubby to some stupid radio station right now and make her a grandbaby, I replied with, we are making you a grandbaby, we are adopting remember. She said I know that, go make me a REAL grandbaby - WTF does that mean? It is a real grandbaby - UGGGHHHHH this woman is my mother, I know that I am supposed to love and respect her no matter what but seriously, A real grandbaby - what the hell? So frustrating!!!

    If this is new to her, I might cut her a little slack. She will need to grieve the loss of a bio grandchild just like you had to grieve the loss of a bio child.

    That being said, I'd have a heart to heart with her about how it makes you feel.

    Sorry you're dealing with that.

    Thank you ladies! I didn't even think about it that way. I was just very upset, I will wait and talk to her about it later. Sorry for coming on here and complaining about it, this is just my only outlet to share my feelings with people who understand.  THANK YOU!!! Have a great Monday!!!

    No apologies needed. We all need a place to vent, and people here can understand. They might have even been in your shoes.

    I was just going to say the same thing.  If I didn't have this board on which to vent, I don't know what I would do.  Sometimes, you just need to put it all out there to people who understand and can give you appropriate feedback.

    I would have been irate myself... I am very grateful to my mom for thinking about adoption sensitivities and equality before speaking. Particularly since my sister just had a "real" baby (I am just kidding, hence the quotes. I am still not sure what a fake baby would be)
