Ds is in a Recaro Vivo. It's one of the slimmer ones on the market, I think, and so far we're happy with it. Seems more sturdy and substantial than others we checked out. It's better for a kid who is on the slim side, a it might be a bit too snug for a bigger kid.
From the research I've done the graco turbobooster and britax parkway are the slimmest around. The Monterey is really popular and supposed to be a great booster for larger kids, but not a great fit for slimmer kids and is fairly wide.
Boosters are REALLY tricky in a 3-across situation because it can be nearly impossible to reach a hand down to buckle/unbuckle the booster. Plus, since most 3 acrosses require using the seatbelts to install the other seats (you can squeeze a few more inches out vs latch), there's a high probability of accidentally unbuckling someone else's seat. If your LO isnt quite 5, it would be easiest to keep using a 5 pt harnessed seat.
What type of vehicle to you have, and what seats are you currently using?
We have a Ford Explorer, and will have a Marathon, infant seat, and booster. I would keep her in the 5 point, but one of our Marathons is about to expire and it doesn't make sense to buy another one when she is almost 5. But I didn't think about the seat belt issue, darn...

How much does she weigh and how tall is she? Most kids can fit in a FF only harnessed seat until around age 7. When she outgrows it, you can pass it on to #2, so it's not like you wont get your money's worth
A Radian will pretty much be your best bet for getting 3 across. If you can swing the cost, two of them will make it even easier! The Radian will puzzle nicely next to the Marathon you've already got.
We actually have two Radians in our other car, which I wasn't planning on replacing yet since they don't expire for awhile. My girls prefer them to the Marathons! Maybe I will just buy another Radian since they have a longer life.
Honestly, she hasn't been to the doctor in awhile, so I'm not sure of her exact height and weight.
Re: What is the preferred booster?
Liam is 5!
