Anyone else taking progesterone supplements?

Do HCG and progesterone both make your boobs sore or is it just one of them? I'm really happy because my boobs hurt really bad again since I started taking the progesterone pills (Coincidence? Maybe.)

Also, do you feel weird after you take yours? I always feel slightly dizzy/drunk almost.

Tell me about your prog pill experience/"symptoms".

I've been on it since 2 days after my retrieval.  I don't notice anything with my vaginal endometrin tabs...other than the nasty discharge from it.  But then again, I don't really have tender boobs either.  I feel immune to the influences of hormones!  Lol!

Are these vaginal suppositories? I haven't heard of these. Mine are prometrium I think and they're taken orally.

I take prometrium too tinkitty. I noticed the dizziness the first few days but I've more or less adjusted now and usually take them right before going to bed to cut down on it as much as possible. Tender breasts are a side effect of progesterone.

Awesome. Thanks for answering. I took mine a little earlier today because I started spotting again a little. Do you have the 200mg one? Why did your doctor wind up putting you on it?

I'm also on 200mg. He put me on it because my progesterone at my 2nd beta was only 5.4. It was up to 12.7 less than 72 hours after starting it.

I've been on vaginal suppositories for two days, and my progesterone doubled, but I haven't really noticed any side effects yet.

I'm assuming both can, I've taken progesterone every cycle since March and my boobs never hurt like they do now.

I felt grouchy and tired the first week or so I took them, but by now I think my body has adjusted and I have no side effects. I take 50mg 2x a day vaginally.

I've been on prometrium for about 2 1/2 weeks.  I have been lucky to not have any side effects as of yet.  No sore boobs, dizziness, nothing.  I am only on 100 mg though and I take it late in the evening before going to bed.

I am on the progesterone in oil shots...it seems to amplify the symptoms. Good luck.

um, I don't think I am having any reactions to mine.  I do mine on a rotation schedule.  One day (today), I do the suppository 3 times a day, then the next day, I do one in the morning and I get a progesterone shot (in the butt, thank you DH the world's best butt shooter!).  My breasts really don't feel very sore, but they did big time before my BFP.  Last check (Wednesday) my progesterone level was 9.7, so that could be why.  My nurse says they want my level about 7, so we are not changing my meds.  but I do get a little jealous at p levels in the 30s

But everyone is different, so maybe my levels are too low for me to really feel anything?

That's awesome. My last one almost doubled before they put me on the prometrium (3.4-6.5). Did you have spotting when your progesterone was low?

Tinkitty - First, I want to say it's so great to see you here.  Second, I am on prometrium, the small pink pills.  My doctor says that they can be taken orally or vaginally.  When taken vaginally, they bypass going through your digestive system, so you're less likely to feel the side effects of being nauseous/dizzy/feeling hungover.  That's what my doctor told me anyway.  So I just shove those puppies up my no-no and have had no issues.  Good luck!

I love the bolded part. I'm happy to still be here! I think mine may be a higher dosage than yours because mine are fairly large capsules and can only be taken by mouth. Were you spotting before being on them or did you just have low progesterone?

I was on them before my BFP.  I always spotted roughly 3-4 days before my period, so I was told to start taking them a few days after I ovulated.  I would stop taking them if I got my period, but was told to continue taking them if I got a positive pregnancy test.  This cycle, BFP (obviously), and no spotting so far.

One more thing - I took mine orally my first cycle, but I took them before bed so that I would "sleep though" the symptoms.  Maybe you can try that?  May wake up feeling slightly hungover though.

Oh yes, prometrium vag supossitories in the am and pm.  I totally feel "off" when I first take them.  And yes the boobs are sooooooooo sore I thinks is the combination of the progesterone and natural baby hormones.  Can I just say discharge....ugh!!!!

I take the vaginal suppositories and I have sore boobs, but I don't really think they're related - the suppositories are supposed to have fewer side effects since they don't need to be digested. I think I've only ever gotten sore boobs when my natural progesterone is elevated, since I've taken Provera orally several times in the past and no sore boobs there.

My RE put me on a one suppository a day. If you do use the suppositories, they actually do not show up in your bw, but my numbers are still looking good. the discharge is not fun, and this is gross, but the nurse told me to "scoop out the old before putting in the new." It seems to help.
