  • Yours are so cute!

Mine are below in my siggy. They are both Cane Corsos. The one on the left is Chloe, she just turned 3 in Oct. We rescued her... we got her at 9mon and were her 4th home. The previous owner didnt have time for her and she lived in a little kennel. Her elbows and knees did not have fur her cage was so small she rubbed them raw, and her back legs did not develop properly (but shes ok now). Who would have thought a "mastiff" would get big!

The guy on the right is Guinness and will be 1 on Thanksgiving. He is our first non-rescue dog, we needed the same breed because they are just so darn strong and play rough! This breed is not for everyone, but these 2 came into our lives at the perfect moment!!

  • Awww love this topic! Our fur-baby is in my siggy. His name is Tony and he is going on 7 years old. We adopted him from a local animal shelter in February 2008. The shelter thought he was probably a stray and he just looked so cute so we needed to adopt him. He is just the most loving cat. DH and him lay on the couch cuddling every night. I'm just a little biased lol Smile

The hard to see Rottweiler is Guiness.  He was abandoned so we can only guess he is around 9 years old.  He is crazy.  He reminds me a lot of Murray from "Mad About You".

The little black and white is our pitt bull/lab mix.  She is 6 and the a major cuddle bug.  She has to be next to a person at all times or she is miserable.

  • Photos are in my siggy:

Two cats, one dog - all rescues! Here are their stories:

Chloe (black long hair cat) - Rescued from a hoarding situation in Pahrump, NV where a "rescue group" had hoarded over 700 cats. They weren't fed propertly, spayed/neutered, and in many cases they had to eat other cats to survive! It was a horrible, horrible situation. Chloe took some time to warm up to us, but now she can't get enough attention. She has a great life!

Nadia (Calico cat) - Rescued from Gilroy, CA and had been poisoned by some evil unknown freak who was feeding poisoned cat food to local strays. Over 100 cats were found dead, and even four dogs! She barely made it, and was nursed back to health with kitten milk. Now she's a fatty and extremely happy.

Oscar (Brindle Basset/English Bull Terrier/X) - Was rescued from another "rescue gone bad" situation. He had hardly any hair left due to sever mange, had ticks all over him, and was severly malnourished. He also had a broken skull and blown out eyeball due to trauma likely incurred by beating and abuse. He's in our home now, all healed up (except for the googly eye that he can't see out of) and is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. I love my Oscar!

I keep telling DH that if we aren't pregnant relatively soon, we'll have to get another puppy.

  • my 2 pugs :)  Toby was rescued as a puppy, we got him at 8 weeks old.  Betty we rescued almost 2 years ago when she was 2.  We call them Chubbs and Boopers.  Also Chubby Bunny and Sausage.  Lots of nicknames ;)  Pics in siggy. They are all about snugglin' and stealing your food when you aren't looking.  They also like to destroy electronics (I call them my amish pugs) and Boopers is trying to thwart baby makin as well.  She recently destroyed a tube of pre-seed.  That shiz is expensive!  She also has a habit of knowing how to jump right on your private parts to inflict maximum pain.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

  • I have one doggy, Jasmine Pearl. She is a cocker spaniel and is my avatar. She is 5 years old. We also have 5 cats. I started off with 2 when I was in law school, and had to put one down when he was 2 years old. Then over the years, we have taken in some homeless kitties. So now I have Stewie siamese mix (8); Furball (4) tuxedo cat, Stitch (4) he is furball's brother and is just a dsh; coco (1 1/2) siamese that was born on our porch; and her sister turkey (1 1/2) tabby that was born on our porch. Turkey and Coco's mom was a stray cat that I used to feed occasionally and she died shortly after giving birth to the kittens so we took them in with the idea of finding them a home.... we became a little attached though. Sometimes I feel like a crazy cat lady. I'm just a sucker for poor defenseless animals!
