For those who do acupuncture?

Do you ever find that during or after you have a strong emotional response such as a crying jag or something along those lines? I have heard this is possible just curious if anyone has experienced it. TIA

Hello!

 First off I love acupuncture it really helped me get over my anxiety. The only "side effect" I noticed was that I always had to pee a river after every session! A few times I actually had to get up with the needles in me an pee.  I also was always very relaxed and sometimes fell asleep during my session. I never had the urge to cry, but it def changed my mood.

I do acu once a week and usually doze off on the table and sleep better than night. I've never been emotional afterward though. My doc said that the needle in the top of the head is supposed to help clear your mind so I'm sure certain needle points have different effects on mood and emotions.

I had the opposite effects. I was always super uncomfortable during and after. Though I was doing acupuncture fore a chronic condition that I have and maybe that's why? I don't know. I stopped doing it because it seemed to be doing more harm than good.

I had acupuncture sessions once a week for 10 weeks, two sessions on weeks I ovulated and never felt emotional during or after, I stress by nature so during the sessions, my mind was sometimes on overdrive, other times I was able to relax slightly.

I sometimes feel emotional after, though that effect has diminished a bit now that I've been doing it for a couple of months.

I do acupuncture twice a month and sometimes, about five minutes into the session, I get a case of the giggles.  At first, I thought it was a fluke, but after a few times, I looked it up and discovered that it's perfectly normal to have an emotional response during a treatment.
