Is anyone preparing a special meal for your LO's first Thanksgiving?
My LO will be having turkey for the first time. I think that I will pair it with some sweet potatoes and some sort of greens. I am sure other family members will be sneaking him a few things here in there as well, so there will probably be a few more firsts in there (e.g., nibble of corn bread, dressing, etc.).
How about you?
Re: The First Thanksgiving?
I didn't even think about everybody else feeding LO. She can eat everything that is being served so I'm not worried about that...I'm worried about the nice white shirt I'm putting her in...I may have to rethink her outfit.
I have a feeling her favorite item is going to be the pumpkin pie that I'm sure somebody is going to sneak her. She loves eating regular food, I'm sure Thanksgiving Day is going to be a highlight for her.
DD will have some turkey, too. I'll also let her try the sweet potatoes and maybe some green bean casserole if the beans are soft enough. I'll bring her some of the butternut squash puree that I made for her and give her that, too (I'm making a batch for the adults but it's all jazzed up with butter and brown sugar).
I love the idea of letting them try pumpkin pie! Maybe apple pie, too...oh, yum. I love Thanksgiving.
