well the appt. with the re led to the following conclusions:

i have a heart shaped uterus, but that won't keep one from getting pregnant 

mild issues with mfi, probably due to testicular cancer or the radiation used to treat it.

So we are going to start with iui.

the plan is femara w/trigger. looking at o and iui on dec 9th.

i am a little sad that we didn't find anything we could obviously fix, but am happy we get to move on to trying something else this very next cycle.

any advice on handling this procedure is welcome, tia

Sorry you have to do IUIs but they're really not that bad (neither is the trigger shot).

The actual procedure is very much like a pap. You go in and lay down, they insert a speculum and then the catheter, deposit the goods and then you're done! You just lay there for 10-20 minutes and then you can get up and be on your way. I went back to work after all my IUIs that fell during the work week. GL!

Good luck!  IUI isn't that bad - it's similar to a pap smear or post coital test.

Glad you have a plan. The iui is not bad at all...easy peasy The trigger shot is not bad either, I think the build up is worse than the actual shot. I just started Femara tonight so no advice there. Oh and I also have a heart shaped uterus, so you are not alone with that!

That's exactly my protocol, femara, trigger, iui.  So if you have any specific messages feel free to ask.  But it'll be fine.  Femara has fewer side effects than clomid, the trigger's no biggie, and as the pp's said, iui is no different than a pap.  So you'll be good to go.  I hope this works for you!  GL!

We just decided to go with IUI yesterday!  Congrats on moving on to the next step!  I know what you mean about "fixing" things... but at least you're moving forward, that is good!

Not to scare you at all, but my RE recommended I have a hysteroscopy (I need lap anyway bc at least one tube is blocked, so while she's in there might as well poke around) because the top of my uterus is curved and she said that can sometimes restrict bloodflow to a fetus. I say of course go ahead with your plan but if IUI doesn't work maybe ask again whether the heart shape should be corrected or looked at further. Good luck! My IUI was painless!

My next step is IUI too. Same as you, but clomid.
