Anyone share an Amazon Prime membership?

With a family member or friend?

Is this allowed under thier terms?  I'm not eligible for a free trial this year and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get it this year.

Re: Anyone share an Amazon Prime membership?

  • Has your H done the free trial? Dads can do Amazon mom, too! That's my plan.

My sister shared her free trial with me, but she looked it up and found that we couldn't share one that we purchased. Which is bizarre, IMO.

  • Oh, actually it says it's limited to one trial membership per household. Bummer.

  • Wait, now I see that you can share the paid prime membership with up to 4 people. Hmmm. I think my sister and I need to talk about this again!

Yes, he has, but not through Amazon Mom. I wonder if it makes a difference? I thought it was if you hadn't used the free trial in the last 13 months you were eligible, but I just tried for him and couldn't get it.

  • Both my husband and I both did the trial on amazon mom, so they aren't checking households.  Not sure why your husband can't get it...unless he's done it before?
  • Here's what it says:

If you sign up for a free trial or paid Prime membership (not including Amazon Student memberships), you may invite up to four eligible household members (living at the same address) to enjoy the shipping benefits of your free trial or paid Prime membership at no extra cost (invitees). (Please note that any member under age 18 may use the Amazon.com Web site only with involvement of a parent or guardian.) If you purchase a Prime membership for use by a business or organization, you may invite up to four eligible coworkers to shop for the related account consistent with these Terms and Conditions.

  • Thank you!

I just signed DH up for Amazn Mom.  I didn't realize he would get the Prime benefits too.  I thought it was tied in to mine.  I think I'll have to pay next year though.

  • I was able to cancel my amazon mom and then just sign up again and it worked.

When you share it with 4 household members, how do they know.
