FireChiefsBrideEMTXOrangeFelt Any updates this week? GL to everyone! QOTW: if you have pets, what will you do to prepare them for a baby? If you don't have pets, how old would your LO be before you think you would get one?
Business Cat.

Re: ***TTC check-in***
No update here... af came over the weekend, so atleast I can get a better read with FF. All the charting is foreign to me so something that I know for sure is happening that I can add is a plus.
We (its really my dog) have a chihuahua, Lola.. see siggy pic below. She has to get to know people before she is okay with them, and it must be on her terms. Im hoping that it will give her plenty of time to get used to a baby before he/she will be all up in her face and Lola will be okay with it by then. Lola is thankfully crate trained, and is pretty good with verbal commands, so Im sure it will be a learning process. But we will make it work.
As for preparing Lola Im sure we will have all the stuff (carseat, toys etc) around the house for her to get used to seeing/smelling. Ive also heard to wrap baby in a blanket that smells like you so the dog doesnt flip out at first.
AF came yesterday, which was a bummer, but expected as I had been POAS daily since 8 DPO.
(I had a friend's birthday over the weekend and wanted to know how much fun I should have. Turned out, it was too much fun. I was hungover all day Sunday.) But I digress. The only good thing is that AF came exactly 14 days after when I think I Oed, which I think is a good thing, as before it was 12 days. So I guess we will try try try again this month!
As for pets, we have a cat. He is 11 this month, so I'm not sure what we can do to prepare him, other than spray Feliway. I'm thinking we may get a net for the crib and then just generally keep the baby away from him as much as possible.
No updates.
QOTW: Not sure.. we have 3 dogs. I think we'll introduce scent via clothing or something at first. I haven't really thought about it, but I'll probably read into it once the time comes. Luckily, the big dogs are very well trained and older, so I'm not too worried. The little dog, well, she listens most of the time.:) but, she's good with the kids she knows.
Update: I talked with the nurse and we agreed that I should take some provera to nip this spotting in the bud. I've finished my 5 day course and now I'm waiting on my period to start and hopefully stop! If it goes longer than 7 days I have to go in for another US. ::fingers crossed::
QOTW: We have a super sweet, neurotic, geriatric rescue dog. We didn't do anything special when Kate got here and she's been fine. I think it helps that babies don't move at first so she could escape for a while. She was actually super protective and would come and get us (barking hysterically) anytime Kate made any noise in her crib. It made getting Kate to sleep in her crib quite difficult, but it was adorable.
UPDATE: I took a test this morning and it was still negative. I was pretty upset about it. I still haven't started. I had bad cramps all week long last week. They have since stopped, but still no other signs of AF showing up either. I am now on day 40 of this cycle so who knows how long it will last. I am going on 7 months now and starting to get really annoyed at my irrelgular cycles.
QOTW: We have two dogs, as for getting them used to a baby I think we'll just do the usual bringing home stuff so they can smell it, and introducing them slowly.
QOTW- Our cat pretty much steers clear of DS, so I have a feeling it won't be an issue with another baby. We have a lab, and he's an outside dog, but he's wonderful with DS, very patient, very loving, and you can just tell he's crazy about him.
We had to watch him in the house when DS was a baby so the dog wouldn't trample on him, but he's always been gentle.
Update- 8 DPO and test his am was negative. It's still early, I know. I just really really want this awesome cycle to work. I don't know if I'll get another awesome cycle. And I REALLY don't want to be on my period when we go to the coast for thanksgiving.
Good luck to everyone waiting to test or waiting to O or just waiting, period!
Update: not much. My acupuncturist has me on some stronger herbs this season to help get my temps up... and something about liver dampness. I'm really looking forward to my annual OBGYN appt the week after Thanksgiving so I can discuss some of my current concerns with my dr and see what next steps we should take and at what point we start to get concerned.
QOTW: i'm not too concerned except for the barking. Biscuit has been barking in the house lately and we haven't been able to get through to him that this behavior is not acceptable. Tried ignoring and rewarding only good behavior, tried stern "no bark" (which works with our other dog), tried time out... I'm very nervous that this will happen when we have a sleeping baby.

No update here.
QOTW: It makes me sad to think that my pups will get less attention than they do now once there is a baby there. I feel like that happens for everyone with pets who has a baby, so it seems inevitable (and for good reason; babies require the attention and priority). I think we will look into hiring a dog walker if we can. I also recently bought a book called "Happy Kids, Happy Dogs" rec'd by an article that Mrs.Rosie shared, but I haven't read it yet.
Not much of an update other than we already have the money saved to do the frozen embryo transfer which means it's a go in January. SOrry I keep talking about it I"m just so freaking excited! Oh and today my OB cleared me to have sex again... probably TMI and it's not like my husband and I could actually get pregnant on our own... but ladies it's been months. There is a non-baby making element to sex.
QOTW: We have a cat-- she will run from the baby I'm sure. I actually felt guilty while pregnant because I knew her life would never be the same. Oh well. We'll probably get a dog for the kids when they are five or so.
Married October 28, 2006, TTC since March 2009 IUI #1-8 w/ clomid = BFN

Our Rainbow Baby is on the Way!
I'm so excited for you guys!
Update: AF came and gave me our 10th negative cycle. I am so discouraged and frustrated. Thanks to FF I know the past 2 cycles have been spot on but nothing. Every time another holiday comes up I start thinking of fun ways to tell our families we are pregnant only for nothing to happen. It sucks.
QOTW: We have 2 cocker spaniels that are really loving. The only thing I plan on doing is letting DH carry the baby in the house and me coming and sitting down so the dogs can get some 1 on 1 attention with me (they are momma's boys). Once they calm down then we will let them smell the baby. We have had them around other kids in the past and there has never been any issues so I am not worried about it.
TTC #1 since February 2011
BFP #1 1/14/12 EDD 9/24/12 m/c at 8w4d on 2/20/12
March 2012- Dx with PCOS, started metformin
July 2012- SA completely normal
No update here. I'm on CD 24 and am not optimistic this month at all that we had good timing.
QOTW: We have two dogs and neither have been around kids so it will be interesting to see how they react. I'm sure we'll have them get used to the smell of the clothes, carrier, etc. The only thing I really worry about is that our older one is a barker. He thinks he hears the doorbell, he barks. He sees our neighbor walk by the window, he goes nuts.
