Re: whine wed...

  • I cannot shake this pain after breastfeeding on the left side - docs/LLL everyone *thinks* its thrush... but ive been on two rounds of Diflucan - and its not getting better.

It only hurts AFTER I nurse - and then it will be lightning hot/borken glass feeling for up to two-three hours after. But I never get the pain after pumping.

If I wasnt so determined to keep BFing, I would totally wean off the left side ...

My friend had this issue too (and at least two rounds of thrush treatment) and actually ended up weaning the one side. After she stopped, we saw an article about vasospasms (I think) that I sent to her and she thought it sounded a lot like what she was experiencing... If it is something you are interested in sticking with, might be worth looking into. I did a quick search and I think this is what I saw: https://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/nipple-blanching.html

  • I really really wish DH could cook!  He has next to no knowledge of how to prepare a meal, except spaghetti. I am really nervous about what DD will eat when I'm in the hospital with DD2. I have a feeling she will be getting a lot of waffles and pb&j. I should start having him make dinner with me, so he has some level of comfort with it.
  • Oh, and my whine: Molars are the suck. Charlotte apparently has a flair for the dramatic (where a 1 year old learns this from, I have no idea), because anytime she is told "no" or is upset about something, she falls down flat on the ground, buries her face in her hands or a pillow or stuffed animal and wails. This is how the majority of my evening was spent the last 4 days. And she is so sensitive. DH said to her the other day, "Come on Charlotte" with kind of an annoyed tone (I think she was shoving all her food in her mouth at once) and she broke down. Big crocodile tears and her chipmunk cheeks full of food. Which she doesn't really want to chew because it was pork chop and kind of harder and hurt her on the side where she was getting the tooth. My whine is that I hate whining. How is that?

  • Maybe these are more like FFCs..

It is annoying to see kids with hair in their eyes all the time.  One of our ILs, her two girls always have their hair dripping in their face and eyes.  And they are always trying to get their hair out of their eyes.  Use a clip or give them bangs already!

And then there are so many times people send me an online album, and they just dump weeks or months of photos in the album and don't go through them.  It is really annoying to get several hundred pics and have to wade through blurry pics, pics of your feet, and like 17 shots of the same thing because you're trying to get a good shot.  So then I don't bother looking at the pics!  Even if you look at the thumbnails, you could easily get rid of the bad ones!

And.. I have been trying to gtg with my friend and her new baby, and she sent out a mass e-mail, second pic I have ever seen of her 6 month old baby, and it was horribly blurry.  Talk about impersonal and a disappointment!

  • I'm so tired of being nauseous and vomiting all day long!  I used to want a big family, but now I know I will be adopting the rest of my children!

I had something very similar with Zoey and through a combination of meeting with a LC and a lot of research on my own, I figured that it was the vasospasm thing that pp mentioned/ Reynauds (sp?) of the nipple. Basically, it was caused by the change in temperature from warm to cold --- your nipple will react to the change of being taken out of baby's mouth and being exposed to the cold air with the vasospams. And that's why it doesn't happen after pumping because there is not the drastic Change in temp. Does your nipple look white and/or purple when it is happening? I think I remember that it would change color and I was told it was because of trying to restore blood low to the area. Anways, what helped me was to use a hot compress (hestig pad or one of those things you heat up in the microwave) right after nursing to make sure my nipples stayed warm. Haha. Sounds so funny to type it out. Not the most convenient, but it definitely helped. And I think eventually t just stopped happening. Google Reynauds of the nipple and I'm sure you will get lots of info. I have it in my hands at feet so i guess it's not uncommon to experience it while BFing too.

p.s. Bumping from my phone while pumping so pls excuse any typos of weird auto corrects.

  • If I clean my house at night and it's an absolute disaster by 9am. I'm drowning in mess. T-minus 8 days until our 4th annual "Thanksgiving for 40" at our house. I LOVE hosting it but I will need like 2 full days to even make my house acceptable for dinner guests :(

  • My DD was sick this Sun/M/T and now she is getting three new teeth. One of them is the canine, so I am sure it hurts a lot. I just want her to feel better. :(

  • Interesting about vasospasms/Reynauds... I have looked for a color change in the nipple before, but havent seen any .... but maybe I will try a warm compress after nursing next time in the middle of the night on that side... it cant hurt!
  • we are telling our DCP on Friday that we are done at the end of the year unless dh gets a job.  It kills me to have to do this to her since she has worked with us but I really need the money for bills.  Then once dh does get a job I have to find a new daycare for them and I hate that thought as well.

I have been doing cloth diapers for 2 and half years and I have had it with them.  Ethan's are so worn down and leak constantly.

  • This separation anxiety stuff is tough...

    I just feel blah...
