I was just curious those of you in the 2WW what are you doing to keep busy? I am officially off bed rest but told to do light duty for the next two weeks.I do not work so I stay home all day. I do go to school but that only takes about an hour of my time a day. Any other suggestions.
Also if you get your BFP this cycle (which I am praying we all do) when do plan to tell family? my beta is 11/29 and would like to tell family at Christmas however, will that be to soon? (i know they tell you to wait till 10/12 weeks) Any body have cute ideas they will use if they do get their BFP?
Re: Those in the 2WW
I'm currently only 3dpo, so I haven't had a LOT of time to sit and think about it. But I work in front of a computer, and the last few weeks have been really slow, so naturally I've been spending some of my spare time at work googling and on the bump, even though I try not to! It drives me crazy and I keep begging for work to do so I don't have to sit and think and think. When I'm home, I tend to make myself busy. I do laundry, watch Netflix for counltess hours, dishes, I've even taken up knitting. I also have pets, so I spend a lot of time playing with them. My nights at home fly by, but when I get to work is when my days feel the longest :S
IF (I pray I do) I get my BFP this month, I plan on telling my husband immediately, his mother (since she will be visiting if I get it this month) right after I tell my DH, my parents and little brother during Christmas, and then making an announcement to everyone else at my 2nd trimester. I'll have to tell certain people before all of that, like my neighbor I do my intense workouts with, and my supervisor so they don't try to deploy me! But other than that I'd like to wait until the 2nd trimester. I know there isn't a technical "safe zone" but I think I'll feel more comfortable in the 2nd trimester. Plus I'd like to enjoy the early days of pregnancy with DH, before random people start coming and touching my belly
Hope we get bfps this month!!

Nov 7 2011 Clomid monitored ultrasound - 2 follies on left side (one was 18-20mm the other was 22 mm) and 1 medium follie on right side
Nov 9 2011 IUI #1 clomid + ovidrel trigger
Nov 23 2011 BFP!!
beta #1 11/23: 228, progesterone: 38, beta #2 11/25: 426, progesterone: over 40, beta #3 11/29: over 1100, progesterone: 30.4, beta #4 12/2: 1800, progesterone: 20.4 - starting progesterone suppositories, beta #5 12/6: 1600 , progesterone: 19, after a rollercoater of up & down betas we went ahead with the methotrexate shots and ultimately had a m/c 12/2011
We've been ttc for almost 2 years, but I've had my ways of telling family since the beginning
For DH, I want to put the BFP in a hot dog bun and put it in the oven. He's kind of forgetful, so I can tell him "Dear, please go check the oven, I think you left something in there the other day" Then he can say, "Wth? There's a bun in the oven." And I'm hoping it'll hit him lol!
I plan on recording this when it happens, and then sending the video to my family. BUT, if I get a BFP this cycle, I came up with another plan. I want to buy "I'm a Grandmother/Grandfather/Uncle" souvenirs, and have them all unwrap them at the same time so I can see their faces. I live on the opposite side of the US from my family, but I'll be home for Christmas. So I want to make it as special as I can!
Baby dust to everyone!

if this is our bfp month we will tell at christmas, just shy of 9 weeks. i would normally have liked to wait till the 10/12 week mark but wtih christmas being there we might as well!
good luck to everyone!!!

I have been trying to watch as many movies as I can! I have also been working on final exams and things like that for my classes but in my free time a movie helps draw me into someone else's life for a while... which is good because I won't test for 8 more days!
If I do get a BFP I plan to tell my husband (obviously), my cousin (who is basically a sister to me), and my one sister, immediately. Everyone else has to wait until we are six months along (hubby's rule- since he is terrified of having a m/c and wants to make sure its a viable baby before telling everyone and then having something happen- which I know sounds awful but he is a worrier. I am not allowed to buy anything baby related until then either- which I am not sure how I am going to manage to do... ahhhhhh the things we do to make our husbands happy! lol)
The funniest thing is that we had kind of "eloped" (we had been together for over seven years and just went down and did it one night) then announced it to EVERYONE via facebook, and as you can imagine the response was less than happy because my family was furios that they found out via fb but... odds are good thats how we will annouce our pregnancy too! Apparently I have learned nothing! lol GL to all you ladies!!
Good luck to you Proud Adoptive Mom!
I will have my beta on 11/30 so I am right there with you. I plan to keep busy during the 2WW by reading a couple of books, walking and watching some movies that I have been wanting to see. I will also go to bed early so there is less of my waking day to think about the count down!
Spending time with family and friends on Thanksgiving should help as well. I think I will just concentrate on looking forward to Thanksgiving that way once it has passed I will just have one week left.
I bought a onesie back in October when I thought my first IUI might work. It is a Thangsgiving onesie for next year when we have a baby (fingers crossed) that says Daddy's Little Turkey. That is how I plan to tell my hubby.
I think I would want to tell my immediate family right away but I know my DH will want to wait. So, we might end up waiting until the end of January. I would probably tell my twin sister and my close friend anyway because they have both suffered through infertility and are now preggers. They have been there for me so much so I would want them to know right away!
If you are telling at Christmas a great way is always through a gift like frames, onesies, a Things Remembered item.
I guess if I end up waiting until the end of January to tell then I could create a neat Happy New Year Card and watch their faces as they open it. If I am feeling really strong I could hold out until Valentine's Day to tell and put together a cute Valentine's Candy Box with little baby booties inside instead of chocolates. However, I know I will not be strong enough to hold out until Valentine's Day!!
I'm with will in the 6dp3dt & the first 3 days were the hardest by far! I started back to work yesterday (I'm a nurse in the ER) so thankfully my days are beginning to fly by. Between yesterday & my beta (on 11/22) I work every day but one! During bedrest I googled everything I wasn't supposed to (LOL), watched tv/movies, read, slept... Enjoy it even though I know your mind is racing with embie thoughts!
As far as telling people, of course DH will know right after I do...I work 3p-3a that day so I will prob just tell him over the phone b/c I won't be home when he gets home from work. We are going up to my family's for Thanksgiving, so it's gonna be hard not to say anything if we get our BFP, but I'm gonna try to hold out until Christmas. I found these frames/ornaments that say "Miracle in the Making" & you can write Baby (& last name) & then ur due date...it has a pic for the first sonogram... (Personalizationmall.com)
Good luck!
well I thought about telling people at Christmas since that is when all family is together. I found a materninty shirt on cafe press that says jingle bell jingle baby on the way. I thought that would be cute to wear Christmas family to tell the family. Most family knows of our IF struggles but only our parents know we went through IVF a 2nd time.
On a side note I really want to tell at Christmas because my sister in law has a daughter who is about three months old unplanned out of wedlock did get married after she was already pregnant and I think if I told at Christmas it would take her self center party from her, which i think would be great. HA HA
I'm 10dp 5dt . . . my beta is on Friday!
As far as staying busy . . . while I was on bed rest I read the third Hunger Games book (so good!), and watched alot of TV, and napped alot. This past weekend I took a girls weekend in Chicago. That helped to keep my mind off of things, for the most part (except when they would drink and I couldn't). Over the next few days I just plan on spendning some quality time with DH and hope for the best.
If, if, if, this 3rd IVF is the charm, of course I will tell DH right away. I had always imagened surprising him in some special way, but with all the IF and IVF crap, he knows I'm having my beta and is waiting for the results just as egerly as I am. If my math is right I'd be 9 weeks at x-mas, so I'd like to find some fun way to tell my family. I just need to get a BFP first.
GL to everyone!!!

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
