DH and I will be going out of the country for a few days and leaving DD with family. What paperwork should we leave with family besides her insurance card? Is there some sort of Power of Attorney or anything, just in case?
I would call her doctor's office and maybe the local ER and ask them if your family would need any type of documentation for her to be treated. It's possible they would need a medical power of attorney.
Yes, we signed some sort of POA statement leaving them in charge of medical care. I think we just googled some templates, printed them out, and filled in the names, dates, etc. Also, if you have a copy of your will or if not an official one, just a simple statement to who you leave her in care of and/or your finances - you may want to include it (in a sealed envelope, if you'd rather not share it).
