Trouble TTC

Question - warning TMI possible

Warning this could be TMI but just wanted to throw it out there since I've never experienced it. So just returned from a (surprisingly relaxing!) vacation where I was able to shut my mind off from IF for a couple days, which was welcoming! now back to reality it is....

anyway, has anyone ever experience extremely sensitive/sore nipples post ovulation? i'm on CD22 today (got some conflicting OPKs but believe I ovulated around CD15-ish) and for the past 2 days my nipples are holy hell sensitive and sore. I've read that this can be due to a hormonal imbalance (especially after ovulation?) Has anyone ever experienced this before? I have my first appt with new RE on Friday and will bring up to her, but in the meantime just curious if anyone else ever had this happen. This is a first for me.....of course everywhere I read on google is "you're pregnant!" but i know that this would be way too early. One website I looked at said hormonal imbalance of progesterone and estrogen, so I'm leaning more towards that.....anyway, any past experiences would be welcomed!!

Re: Question - warning TMI possible

  • Yep.  My breasts get really sensitive and get larger post ovulation.  Never had  it happen before my cycles got regular.  It Is really annoying because it gets my hopes up!

  • This only happens to me on cycles where I take progesterone suppliments.  I have naturally low P4 readings without the supps.  Maybe you just ovulated a really "good egg" LOL so your progesterone levels are higher than they normally are.  Truth be told, it can be seen as a PG symptom, but enough of us get it on BFN cycles that you are correct that you shouldn't get excited.  But at the same time, it's not something you should be too concerned over either.

  • The first 6 or cycles off the pill I had really sore nipples at ovulation.  It was how I knew something was happening.  But then it went away and hasn't returned even with ovulation induction drugs that I definitely ovulate with.
