did all of you have your numbers double in order to have good outcome? Anyone have slow moving numbers, but result in a normal pregnancy? Any good stories/reassurance would be so helpful now! Thanks!
I only had two following my iui. My first beta which was 15 days after my iui was I think 168. My second beta two days later was in the high 200s, I don't remember, but it didn't double in 48 hours. It was a successful pregnancy.best of luck and tons of sticky dust headed yur way.
I had a LOT of HCGs draws and sometimes the numbers are just obviously bad and sometimes you just have to wait it out. With my first pg, the first beta was 13, the second two days later was 21 and soon after it ended. The second pg, I started at 195, went to 225 and then it dropped to 75 and bounced for several weeks between 75 and 50 before I got a shot of methotrexate to end it.
With DS, I started at 695, went to 1400+ and then to 5K+. I had spotting and things were scary but my numbers were excellent and it turned out to be a healthy pregnancy.
Given your numbers, I would want a new beta every other day until either it falls (indicating a miscarriage) or something can be seen on ultrasound (which is generally after the beta gets to about 3K). Your numbers are suspicious and until they can figure out where the pregnancy is they should be monitoring you closely to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.
My numbers did double, although with G they started on the very low side.
However, it is not uncommon that they do NOT double. This question gets asked a lot on the SAIF board, and the general consensus is that a 48hr doubling is not a mandate and it's actually a longer period.
The fact they are increasing, though, is a positive sign. Here's hoping this is a healthy pregnancy for you and NOT ectopic!
Re: For those of you with who had beta HCGs drawn
My first one was 14 days after IUI and it was 250, second one 2 days later was 615.
I do know someone who had low #'s both first & second beta but her RE ordered a 3rd beta and that doubled (compared to the second).
I believe they are looking for doubling 48-72 hours between betas.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
