Is a cup any easier?

At my dr. office they have clients pee directly on a test strip rather than in a cup. This was no big deal until week 32 when my aim was not longer as good as the previous months. I am wondering if a cup is less tricky?? There are cups if requested but if it's a gong show either way I'd rather not waste the plastic.

  • At my OB we have to pee in a cup at every single visit, it's super easy, even now at 35 weeks. :)

  • I miss the cup more often than hit it and I have even dropped the cup by accident. I wish I had a stick option!

  • Never had the stick option, but I find the cup fairly easy.  Never had a problem, even this morning and I'm 37 weeks.

  • I'd think a cup would be easier and less hassle. My OB office gives you a cup and I just hold it right up to my girly parts until I am done peeing-this way I know it is getting in the cup and I dont have to look at what I am doing or try and aim.

  • My OB has both plastic drinking (8 oz) cups and the sample cups in the restroom for this. I tried once directly into the sample cup and since it was small, it didn't work out so well. I also didn't want to give the nurse a cup I had peed all over..that's nasty.

So I use the plastic cup (since the opening is really wide, I've never missed yet! Even now when I can't see ANYTHING below my belly...not even the toilet when I sit on it...LOL)...then just pour into the sample cup. So much easier.

  • I wish we could pee in a stick. Trying to pee in a cup is damn near impossible when you can't see wth you are doing! I had a hard enough time peeing in a cup when I wasn't preggo.

  • My OB office just keeps stacks of small plastic cups in the bathrooms for patients.  I've never had a problem with peeing into it.

  • I find peeing in the cup sooo difficult.  Plus, they actually want you to start to pee into the toilet and then move the cup into your urine stream.  Try doing that when you can't see without peeing all over the cup or your hand.  It's next to impossible.  I'd love to try the strips.

  • I think a cup is easier than a stick - but I've thought that ever since before being pg.  In fact, for my pregnancy test I used a cup and then stuck the stick in it to be sure and get enough on the stick!  If you're having trouble aiming for the stick, try a cup.  A little more gross, maybe, but it gets the job done.
