I am 33w 4 days and my baby has never been very active ever since he started moving. At least he is consistent! He will move around in the morning when I'm still in bed and at night when I'm on the couch or laying down, but even then his kicks/punches have never been very strong at all. I'm a FTM and it makes me nervous reading about women whose babies keep them up at night with their kicking because this has never happened to me! Does anybody else have a mellow baby?

Re: Anybody else have a mellow baby?
Id say I have a pretty mellow baby too.
When I was 30-33 weeks I would probably only feel him occasionally when I was up and about and more so when I was laying still.
Now at 35-26 weeks the movements are different. The baby is doing more shifting than kicking.
Never during the pregnancy has the baby kept me up at night because of kicking. Now sitting on my bladder and bh contractions have woken me up for sure!
DD#1 was a mellow baby and turned out to be a pretty laid back infant/toddler and now she's a chill 5 yr old. So, maybe you'll get luck and your LO will stay that way.
DD#2 on the other hand is a super active one so I'm thinking I may have had it easy with DD#1 and this one will be nuts. lmao
I've posted about this before too so don't worry you're not alone
I'd say my LO is on the mellow side - definitely has NEVER woken me up or kept me up at night. It's just recently that he/she has started moving more during the day, but my kicks aren't painful or anything, and by moving more I don't mean all the time, just more than a few times a day like it used to be. I think the kicks are getting stronger but it doesn't feel like the baby is trying to break free from my stomach lol. Also, I don't know if it's too early for this, but the baby's movements have changed. When I used to feel movement it was always in the form of a kick, but now it's mostly rolling and pushing, with some kicks here and there.
I like the thought of just having a mellow baby and that it will carry over to after it's born. A good friend of mine just had her son and he was more mellow, and never kept her up at night either. He is sooo cute and quiet now that he's born, so there could be some truth to that.

DS was pretty mellow in utero and turned out to be a quiet, easygoing kind of kid.
This little guy is following suit and has a couple active periods a day where I get nudges, but that's it so far. Perhaps he'll be a good eater/sleeper and mellow like his big bro. One can hope!
