I had my follie check today after 2 rounds of Clomid this cycle. 100mg and then 150mg. I've been having the worst time with hot flashes and can barely sleep because of it. After my miserable time at the RE's last week, I was prepared for the worst today. To my excitment, I had responded to the Clomid. I have 2 follies that are on their way (15 and 16). I'm going back in on Friday for another u/s and to trigger.
My hesitation is with my lining. He said my lining was really bad. It's not even 3mm. I asked him if there was anything I could do to improve it before trigger and he said it may do it on its own but that there was nothing to do at this point in the cycle. I've read about people taking estrogen supplements and I wasn't sure what to do. Are these harmful to take prior to ovulation. Why would he not put me on something to at least try to improve my lining?
Thanks to Dr. Google, I've read a lot of success stories with a 5mm lining, so I'm hoping that I can at least get it to that point and have a shot. I plan on doing everything I can naturally, POM juice, spinach, and baby apririn.
My question is should I call my RE again and ask him again about putting me on estrogen supplements? Are there any more home remedies you think I should try? I've put so much time and energy into making sure that I O that I never even thought of lining, so I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with this new issue and just want to make sure we have a good shot this month with DH's impending deployment.
Sorry this is so long. Thanks for taking the time to read it!
Re: I'm the 1 in 4, but now a new issue
I am glad to hear that you responded to the increased dosage for Clomid, but sorry you got bad news about your lining.
I have been on Femara for several cycles, not Clomid, but my lining has always sucked at the time of IUI. I have since been prescribed Estrace to take during my 2ww and I have heard that some women, once they get their BFP, remain on Estrace until 9-12 weeks. Not sure if it has helped my lining, but its definitely something you could bring up to your RE or nurse at your appointment on Friday. Its definitely not too late to start taking it.
Good luck!

Clomid completed f-ed up my lining when I took it. I was with my ob/gyn at that point - so they didn't do anything about it. I would ask your RE about estrace though. I would not try baby aspirin without your RE telling you that its ok.
Good luck!

Clomid thinned out my lining, but they put me on Estrace and it thickened a few millimeters (don't remember the exact numbers anymore). I'd definitely ask about Estrace.
Also, please don't take baby aspirin without your doctor telling you to take it. I know it's "low dose," but it's still not something to put yourself on, KWIM?

As far as stuff you can try at home, aside from the POM juice I've heard about women having a lot of success with red raspberry leaf tea (not raspberry tea, but tea made from the raspberry plant's leaves). I was told not to drink it during the 2ww (or during the first trimester, for that matter), however, because some studies suggest that it encourages uterine contractions (not helpful for implantation).
I'm convinced that the POM juice and raspberry leaf tea are the only reasons my lining wasn't completely destroyed by Clomid last cycle (although it was close). I figure giving it a try for a couple days can't hurt. You may need to go to a natural grocer or another store that carries herbal remedies.
Good luck to you! ***sends thickening vibes***
