Those on Follistim or similar

Lets say I have to take 150 iu tonight & there is only 50iu left in the pen. Do you finish that up & then take a 2nd shot to finish or do you just use a new cartridge? I've had to do this once before & ended up doing the 2 shots because I didn't want to be wasteful, but I'm not a fan of the multiple pricks, especially after so many days in. Just wondering what you do?

I use up every last drop - its like liquid gold - you don't want to waste it.   I didn't really mind the extra follistim shot - especially during IVF - the follistim needle was smaller than the insulin needle that I used for lupron.

I multiple shots too. I agree those shots aren't bad at all.

I used Gonal-f, but it's similar.  The last time this happened to me, I used a vial -- dialed the pen, squirted into the already mixed vial, then pulled the rest out with a syringe and put it in the vial.  But I was mixing Gonal-f with Bravelle, so it made sense.  

I will do almost anything to avoid an extra shot.

I finish it up, so if needed, I would do two injections.  Don't forget that they overfill the cartridge, too.  My 900iu cartridge actually had a 1000iu in it.

Yep, def know about the overfill & have taken advantage. I plan on doing the multiple shots, but they started hurting again. I told MH he will have to do them for the next few days.

I definitely did multiple shots. I didn't want to waste even a drop. My nurse told me they overfill the 300iu to around 400iu too. The Follistim shots with the pen really didn't bother me, but I also have a nice layer of fat on my belly so I don't feel much

Oh I do too...lol. For some reason, the more days I do them, the worse they get. I don't get it.

I agree with PP's use every last drop! That is one costly med, and the videos tell you to dial your full dose and inject as the pen will 'remember' how much more you need. Plus the cartrages are overfilled!
