Trouble TTC

intro & looking for experience

Hello I'm not new to the boards but kinda new to the Troubled end of TTC.

A bit of History on me, My name is Steph, I am 31, me and DH(28)have been trying consistently since June a couple months after I had my Gall Bladder removed for stones, thought we officially tossed out birth control out the window last December wanting to just have fun.

After what was thought to be a early M/c in august (50+day cycle) and now this cycle I started spotting just after I O'd, My family Dr is sending me for a Sonohysterogram and I'm kinda apprehensive about the procedure and what any potential results could mean for me and DH getting KU.

Felling kinda like less of a women right now since everyone has told me in the past, "you have lots of time to have kids" and now all this issues keep popping up and it seems like it's never going to happen.

Fibroides and endomeriosis run in all the women on my moms side of the family as soon as we hit the thirties, and most of my cousins have had their kids before 25 and here I sit at 31.

any advise or words of comfort are welcome.

Thank you

Re: intro & looking for experience

  • If you went of BCP last December than you've come to the right board!  Starting testing is the first step - but there are many tests that need to be done to pin point what issues you and YH might be facing.  Did you have a pos. test on your 50+ cycle that you believe was a c/p?  Because it could have just been a long cycle (sometimes a sign of annov cycles or PCOS).  Aside from the Sonohysterogram, you should look into getting a HSG (don't think it's the same test), as well as, cd3 bloodwork on your hormones, cd3 u/s for an anntrical follie count, 7dpo progesterone test, and a Sperm Annalysis for your husband.  If you want to be really aggressive - you can get all of these tests done in one month.  I would also recommend moving on to an RE.  Please see our clicky that for "new to this board" up in the green area on the page.  It has a lot of information that you will find helpful while going through this and learning what, if any, infertility issues you are facing.  Good luck moving forward and welcome to the board.

  • I haven't been on BCP in about 10 years, we just stopped using condoms.

I had full blood work done last cycle when they thought is was a c/p and a u/s then too.

My Dr just ordered more blood work to look at hormones & thyroid and ordered the Sonohysto since he had suggested it last month if thing where still not right this cycle.

I also just finished reading the newbie link for this board and I have yet to talk to DH about having him see the Dr for a S/A but My Dr said the only place to get it done is in London, Ontario which is 1 hrs away... and I'm out of days off at work so it would have to wait till the new year since i have no other way to get time off work to get any testing done, it's all so furstrating.

I know how you feel! Seriously, if one one person says it will just "happen" I might freak. Everyone in my family had most --if not all their babies-- before 30 and I'm 29... Ugh. I've also had my galbaldder out and it's no fun. Hope you get things figured out! This is a great community!
