NBR: coupons

Well, sort of BR, since I clip a lot of diaper/wipe coupons :)

For all the coupon clippers out there...

Where do you get your grocery related coupons?

Are there any online resources you use?

I've been clipping coupons out of the newspapers, but they never seem to really have any for the products I buy the most of.

On a related note: I did my first major coupon outing at Target the other day. I got $150 worth of stuff for $39 thanks to coupons! #winning

Re: NBR: coupons

  • Redplum.com and P&G Brandsaver is pretty good. I also use couponbug.com

For the coupons I have that I know I will never use I go to swap spot and just give them to people that can use them.

  • I follow a few blogs that post local deals & for the major stores.  The ones I follow are - Pocket Your Dollars, Money Saving Mom & Hip 2 Save.  They'll show coupon match ups with products.

If there is a good coupon out there that I know I need multiples, I either swap on the Swap Spot here on the bump or will just go to ebay and usually someone is selling a bundle of them for cheap.

  • Yay for your first major coupon outing! It's really exciting to see the total isn't it?

I'm relatively new at it too! I'm TRYING not to go super crazy horder like but do have a little stock pile going.

I order weekly or bi-weekly from a coupon clipping service. I go through The Coupon Carry-Out. It's reccommended you choose a local clipping service to your region so that you can get your coupons in the quickest amount of time (because if you notice coupons are expiring sooner and sooner anymore!). I BELIEVE they are out of Ohio...so if you're in Wisconsin they might be your best bet too. It normally takes me 2-3 days to get my coupon order (I'm in IL). I go through their coupon selection and only pick the products I use. There are typically minimums/maximums on how many coupons of each product you can order...which is fine with me because I'd rather stockpile when I have a coupon. You have to spend a mimimum of $3.00 with them each time you order (but can get much much much more in savings).

I usually use Kroger for my grocery needs. They have online coupons I can load right to my Kroger card and I can get double coupons on some coupons.

CVS and Walgreens are a couponer's dream!!! If I'm going to end up with an extremely low total it's going to be at CVS (I've even walked out of there with them paying me!). You MUST get a CVS card if you don't have one. Watch their ads and combine their sales with their coupons and many times you can walk out with free items (candy, dish soap, chapstick, kleenex, snack food, etc). CVS' ad will actually tell you each week what coupons you should be getting in your local paper to combine their sales with those coupons.

Walgreens has free coupon books when you walk in the door. They kinda look like travel brochures... It's a great place to get extra coupons too. Walgreens is best too for combining their sales with coupons. Freebies!

Another resource that might give you some ideas of what you can get cheap/free each week is Jill Cataldo.

This all being said I typically stick to just product lines I like/use. There are so many coupons that I don't use. On occassion if I have a good stack of coupons I won't use I'll put them up for bids on ebay. Like I had a good stack of baby coupons last week I knew I wasn't going to use (2-$2.00 off Dreft, 2-$1.00 Butt Paste, 1-$1.00 Little Remedies). I sold them to make some extra change and sometimes if there are certain products I can't find coupons for I try there. Example...I got a lot of 15 coupons for Baby Depot there for $2.00. It's saved me hundreds!

    Happy couponing!!!
