Trouble TTC

RE appt

I have been away for a while stressing that I may have a tumor somewhere in my endo system but RE assured me it was not! My husbands test came back normal with everything but I my PCOS is the problem. My FSH and LH are good. My glucose and insulin are off, I wish I could remember all my number FSH was 4 (the only one I remember). The nurse that we first spoke with prior to the dr needed to watch her phrasing! She said our labs and my HSG were good and then went on about what all the fertility options were. I wanted to know what would be the best for our situation. So my DH asked then we don't need treatment? She said no you were trying for over a year so obviously you need something. I looked at my DH like ooh  do you realize this is a very sensitive subject for couples? This is not like purchasing a wedding album and look at all the various ways you can format it... this is serious! So my DH was discussed by her selling tactics. The DR was much more sensitive! The dr recommended Metformin for a little while... If that alone does not work then, Clomid will be added. I am hoping Metformin alone will work since I found lumps in my breast in July that were inconclusive. So that makes me nervous. i go back at the end of this month to have my breast reexamined.

Re: RE appt

  • Any ladies with PCOS taking Metformin? Did your cycles get back on track with it?

  • Many ladies here with PCOS have nad success with Metformin while others have not. Good luck and make sure you're properly monitored if you do go the Clomid (or other IF meds route).

Oh, and paragraphs make things easier to read and more people will be likely to reply.

  • I'm on Met.  I can't say that my cycles are definitely better with it b/c I've only taken it with Femara.  I did, however, respsond very well to the Femara so maybe the Met had something to do with that.

Also, be prepared for the side effects of the Met.  Personally it made me very nauseated, and it took a good month of being on it before the side effects subsided.  Good luck!
