Baby knitting patterns

I've been getting back into knitting and am looking for some easy patterns to make for baby.  I am a beginner knitter and would love to know what your favorite patterns are.

I made these and they are super cute and pretty fast too!  https://www.goldenbirdknits.com/2009/07/easy-baby-booties-knitting-pattern.html

Re: Baby knitting patterns

  • I just started this, although I haven't gotten to any hard parts yet. If you just do a plain blanket it should be pretty easy.

  • Have you checked out ravelry.com?  THey have awesome patterns for knitting and crocheting.  I crochet so I don't have any patterns for knitting but it is free to join ravelry and there are TONS of patterns that are free.

This is what I was going to say! Join Ravelry.com! It's amazing! There are more free patterns than you can imagine! There are also a bunch that are very inexpensive if you simply fall in love.

  • Thanks for the tip!  I hadn't heard of ravelry...  I will certainly check it out!

  • If you check out Bernat yarns website and Lion Brand yarns websites, they have some free patterns on there and they give the difficulty levels. :) I'm with the other ladies on joining Ravelry though, because they have those patterns, and SO MUCH more. :) Happy knitting!
  • I love knitting and I found a great book a few years ago called Knitted Toys by Zoe Mellor.  Her patterns are very easy and they come out very cute.  I use cotton yarn so that they are washable.  I have been knitting these up for my friends and sisters for each of their babies -  but it's been a nice change getting to knit for DD.  I love these for beginner knitting because you don't have to worry about the gauge (because it doesn't have to fit :) and they come together really quickly.

I have also found great patterns on etsy by amy gaines.  She sells her patterns for just a few dollars and I love them.  She also has some great Christmas ornaments that I made last year for family members.

I am knitting a really easy blanket right now out of a nursery knits book that DH bought me when we found out I was pregnant but blankets take me forever!
