We both like the name Annalee Rae, but do not want it pronounced like "Hannah". We would like to spell it with an "O" as in "online"--Onalee, Onalie, etc. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful. Thanks!
I'm sorry. Annalee Rae is too close to anally raped.
This made me bust out laughing, and I almost woke DD from her nap.
Yeah, I can't get passed the 'anally' thing. Maybe I just have the mind of a 12 year old boy?
Thanks for all the "anal" referances, I hadn't thought of that; which makes the spelling to begin with an "O" even more important so that it is pronounced "on-a-lee".

I like the pronunciation you're going for, but I think the "O" looks a little odd, plus I can see people trying to pronounce it OH-na-lee instead. I like pp's suggestion of Annelie.
It's funny that only people on this board ever say anything about "anal". I haven't ever heard anyone in real life refer to this with names that include those letters in that order.
This is the closest spelling to the way we want to pronounce it. We like the idea of her name beginning with an "O" Is it crazy to spell it Onalee? or Onnalee?
Re: Spelling of Annalee
This.
I just cannot get past Anally whenever I hear/see this name.

Annaliese is beautiful. Anna (fn) Lee (mn) is too. Annalee is asking for middle school torment.
Analeigh a-nalei-
gh, an(a)-leigh as a girl's name is a variant of Ana (Hebrew), and the meaning of Analeigh is "favored grace".This made me bust out laughing, and I almost woke DD from her nap.
