**CTBride**

You once mentioned that when RB wakes in the morning she will often (sometimes?) occupy herself with a book.  Where do you put the books so that she can get them from her crib?

LO rolls around so much at night that I think if I put a book in the crib she would wake every time she rolled over it or hit it with her hand. DD is obsessed with books right now and when she wakes she often wants to just sit and read for a bit before starting her day.  I just can't think of a way to get her books without me having to go in and give them to her.

Help! :-)

  • I do a few different things, depending on the day :)

Sometimes she reads herself to sleep so they are in there from the night before - but this isnt working well any more because she's taken to ripping the pages out of books at night Tongue Tied.  Sometimes I put the books in her crib while i'm in her room for Daisy's second wake up (usually around 3-4am).  And once in a while I will put a couple books in a bag and hang it from the edge of her crib so she can retrieve them in the morning.  I'm sure thats some kind of hazard, but so far so good for us Wink

  • So basically you're saying I need to have a second baby so I have an excuse for going into the room at night and adding books to the crib - gotcha Wink

Yeah, BabyT*T will rip pages out of books in the car if she is in the wrong mood so I think I would only be able to leave board books with her.  I like the bag idea.  I could probably just get a coat hook ("S") hook to hang on the end of the crib and then hang a paper bag so there would be no worrying about straps or handles.

  • I think that's a great idea.  Or a cloth bag--tie it to the crib with ribbon.  I sewed a flat-bottom bag with ribbon ties for gram to hang from her walker while she's rehabbing. Maybe it could work for old age and the very young.  (As so much can....)

i knew you'd pick up on my hidden suggestion within my suggestion, lol Stick out tongue

  • Forget the tooth fairy--If I woke up and found books in my bed or tied to my bed, I would definitely believe in magic!
