Trouble TTC

Incredibly Frustrated

I had my monthly appointment with my OBGYN this morning. My appointment was for 8am, so I show up 10min early and NO ONE is at the clinic, at all. I'm active military, and when you miss an appointment, you get into HUGE trouble (like, big time) I sat there for over 20 minutes before I just said screw it and started walking towards the doctors offices.

So I knock on his door and he's all surprised to see me this early - as if my appointment wasnt 20 minutes ago. I tell him AF was a bit early, but short (started Thurs ended yesterday) and he tells me that its good. If I dont get PG by next month, we'll blow open my tubes and do an HSG. Ummm, you said that LAST MONTH! ahhhhhh! And then he had me take a PG Test, just for an added insult to injury. But he doesn't *think* there's anything wrong, but it could be possible. Not that testing me would show us anything hm?

So I'm back on the same dosage of Clomid, no monitoring or anything. He tells me that once you begin ovulating it should only take about 3-4 months to get KU. Yeah. its been 4 months with you on Clomid, and then 11 months before you. As if all this IF stuff is just in my head.

I was so mad I wanted to kick him and then cry. I dont have all the time in the world to just wait for this. My time is almost up. I am so happy I have another appointment with a different doctor on Wednesday.

Re: Incredibly Frustrated

  • Whoa, I'm sorry you're frustrated, but I think you need to educate yourself on the Clomid. I hope the doctor you see on Wednesday is better than this guy is.

  • If you've been here on the board long, then I'm sure you've heard all our warnings about not being monitored while on clomid (if not read the link for new to the board at the top in the green section).  And I'm also sure you've heard us talk about what's the point of treatment if you have not had an HSG to check if your tubes are clear.  I am glad you are seeing a new doctor.  When you meet with him, talk to him about your concerns - and bring up that you've been unmonitored so you're not even sure if the clomid is helping you ovulate since there was no mornitoring and that you don't know if your tubes are clear since you've had no HSG.  I hope this doc will see the errors of your previous doc and get you moving in the direction for correct & safe treatment plans!

  • Yikes- that's scary! I hope your appointment on Wednesday is much better and that your new Dr is more educated on the importance of monitoring clomid and testing before beginning it. GL!
