Happy Monday!
I slacked last week with the post (and sorry to admit, with my eating and exercising as well), and need to kickstart my motivation again. So, I decided to get back to starting my day with a good breakfast. Today, it was raspberry greek yogurt, a banana and coffee. Doesn't sound like much, but it really does keep me going for a good part of the morning.
Anybody have some good go-to breakfasts that are quick to make, to eat, and are satisfying?
So excited - planning on making the baked pumpkin oatmeal from Annies's Eats this weekend while my MIL is in town. I have made it a couple times already, and it is beyond amazing!
Have a good week!
Re: **HLG**
I sooo need to jump back on the wagon. I've been terrible. I set my alarm to get up and workout this morning, but I turned it off... and I really don't even remember doing it!
My favorite quick breakfast is a green monster smoothie. Evan loves them too. For the 2 of us I use about 1 cup plain lowfat yogurt, a splash of milk, 1 frozen banana (I cut them in slices and freeze once they are getting over-ripe), about 1/2 cup frozen berries (I usually buy the mixed blend or just blueberries) and then a huge handful of baby spinach. Blend it all up, and you don't even know the spinach is there. Sometimes I'll switch up the flavors and freeze other fruits when they are on sale... I'll do a tropical one w/ mango/pineapple/banana or sometimes I'll do banana and a big tablespoon of natural peanut butter. They are really filling and easy to take with us in the car.
I also like using up extra veggies and making little baked omelets in muffin pans. They freeze well, so you can make a big batch and just pop a couple in the microwave. Evan loves those too! I usually use a few whole eggs and a few whites only.
I love that baked oatmeal from Annie's blog! Last week I made pumpkin pancakes and I had some pumpkin leftover so I was just mixing into my regular oatmeal... it was so good! Another favorite breakfast is overnight oats- you can do it in the crockpot or stovetop. I use the steel cut oats.
I've been alternating between 30 day shred and the elliptical. I can get through the first program on 30DS pretty well without hurting, and without being sore the next day. I just don't have much time for either, so the elliptical is no more than 15-20 minutes either.
For breakfast I generally always have a kid's size bowl of granola with almond milk and a green tea. Of course sometimes I end up snacking in the morning, but I try to stick with something like dried fruit, fruit, or yogurt.
My problem is not enough fresh stuff for lnch or dinner. I never know if DH is going to be home and then without fail, when I buy fresh veggies, then he's not home that day.. or the next.. then they go bad. Argh!!

I slacked too, with my post and with my eating. The wedding we went to was full of super skinny 20 yr old girls dressed like hookers. I felt so old and frumpy- I'm sure Mexico is going to be the same so today is a new day. I am REALLY going to make an effort now.
My go-to breakfasts are; egg whites and turkey sausage or a bowl of special K.
I plan on jumping on the wagon completely on January 1st...I know it is cliche, but with the holidays, it is so hard. I am exercising pretty regularly though and will continue that.
I would like to try the 21 day no junk food challenge I saw on Pinterest. I think if I could kick my chocolate/snacking habit I would be way better off.
Breakfast: measured out bowl of cereal with skim milk and cut up fresh berries/blueberries
4 lbs is great! Don't get down about it. 1-2 lbs a week is considered healthy weight loss. Are you tracking your food/calories? Sometimes I think I'm doing OK, then I really take a look at what I'm eating, and I cringe. That's when I get back into weighing and measuring my portions.
