Speaking of Nesting

What does it look like for you?

 For me:

*planning and preparing freezer meals. I have 5 recipes planned for next week and cannot wait to start working on them

*not really wanting to be out and about away from home

*enjoying as much one on one time with my husband as is possible.

Re: Speaking of Nesting

  • I have complete intentions of having this to do list done by Wednesday-but that is all dependent on how well little one lets me sleep and how comfortable I am allowed to be!  (I thank god for DH and my mother or this list would be 10X as long!)

*Wash carseat, swing and all covers
*Pack clothes for the Oh Sh*t Bag
*Pack DH's toiletries for Oh Sh*t Bag
    *Wash our bedding
*Order our PnP (long story short, our 'gifted' one was not anything I would put a child in)
    *Pick out birth announcements
    *Finish Thank you cards
*Order last little things: sling, nursing cover, baby book pages, you get the idea.
    *Start cleaning OUR bedroom

Of course I am trying to spend as much alone time with DH as possible and staying close to home as you said.  It's a little too cold for my wussie self to be out anyway.

  • I am wishing nesting would kick in. Before pg I was a super clean freak and it has been put on the sideburner....now I am just too exhausted to do anything and haven't. I want to nest so bad but am lazy and just want to lay around when I can....it is very weird to me! Anyhow, next weekend is my baby shower at my house so if I don't get into gear these next 2 days then I am hiring housecleaners to come on Friday. Aren't I supposed to be nesting?

  • So far I've made and frozen:

    Chicken noodle soup

    Pasta E Fagioli soup

    Beef Stroganoff

2 batches of chocolate chip cookie dough

several loaves of pumpkin cranberry, banana, and zucchini bread

-still want to make and freeze chicken crescent bundles, chicken paprikash, and sugar cookies.  If I finish those I'll probably do some lasagna and spaghetti sauce and meatballs.

-doing Christmas shopping and wrapping, and I want to decorate for Christmas in the next two weeks so it's done

-need to get some cleaning/organizing done, especially our bedroom and the spare room it's a mess!

-still need to pick up some extra items for pumping

  • For me it's:

-having the urge to deep clean my entire house, though my energy level is not quite enough

-freezing tons of meals ahead of time

-getting all my xmas shopping out of the way now so I don't have to worry about it after LO is here

-getting all the last minute baby things together

  • Mine is just an overwhelming desire to get his "room" perfectly clean and in order. Sadly he really doesn't have a place to sleep yet (fail) and we're having to wait on family members to either do what they told us they would do (our inlaws promised our PnP which is where he was going to sleep and my GM was hellbent on buying our mattress, neither of which happened) or we're going to be scrambling to finish it up AFTER he gets home. I've finished Christmas shopping for my SD and got it out of the way as well as washed everything within arms length that could be washed except for his clothes. Its soo frustrating-I'm so close and ready to just sit back and enjoy my little boy but it looks like I'll be finishing out this pregnancy a stressed out mess.
