Hi Everyone ![]()
I'm not going to go into much detail about my experience with getting chlamydia, but I was raped last year and had chlamydia from August until May of last year. It was a bad situation and it left me with PID. Which is Pelvic Inflamiltory Disease and it causes severe blockage and scarring of the fallopian tubes.
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 5 months- and even though I have been treated for Chlamydia, we are still having doubts.
Has anyone here experienced a successful pregnancy after an STD or PID?
Needing a little hope and good wishes. Thank you all so much.
Re: Trouble TTC After severe case of Chlamydia and PID
I'm very sorry you went through that situation, that is horrible. ((hugs)) Have you talked to your OB/Gyn about if this will hurt your chances of conceiving or what you need to do? If you feel you might have scarred tubes, they can do an HSG to see if you have any blockages. There are also other procedures, you'd just have to see what they recommend.
Best wishes to you.

You will definitely need an HSG to check for blockage. Some PIDs can lead to damaged fallopian tubes or even hydrosalpinx. Hydros need to be removed because the fluid inside is typically toxic to embryos. In some cases total removal of the tubes is necessary and you would have to move onto IVF.
Based on your history you need to meet with an RE. Hopefully your tubes are clear and ok. Best of luck!
