VBAC

Gah! This freaks me out a little bit . . .

I know this has absolutely nothing to do with me, but my two best friends from undergrad both (like me) went late with their first babies and had c-sections, but then with their second babies, they both went really early and their babies had to be in the NICU for a bit.  The upside is that they ended up VBACing.  I'm just really terrified of having a pre-term baby.  I know they generally end up fine, but one of the main reasons I want a VBAC is to be able to snuggle and bond immediately.  Anyway, I know I shouldn't worry about hypothetical things I can't control.

  • Unfortunately for our VBAC attempts, I think statistically the opposite is more likely.  Since we went late with our first births, chances are good we'll go late with our next birth.

But, I agree, there are so many things to worry about during birth.  And I feel like the risks are more clear for me this time.  Where with the first, the risks were more abstract.
